is any Muslim going to apologize for ISIS or are they just going to continue blinding supporting them
ISIS was created because of the removal of Saddam Hussein and his tyranny from Iraq. He controlled all these minor terrorist groups..and since his regime was stopped..all these minor groups have had the freedom to grow without much competition. So ultimately ISIS was created by America. Their invasion of Iraq was the most useless thing ever which killed millions of people in means for revenge for 9/11 which ultimately fucked things more. Need to rethink who was the real cause of this problem mate.

I'm agreeing with Rathin. US interventionism gave rise to ISIS.

Ya'll realize most of ISIS' major success was in Syria and a lot of the leadership were former saddam loyalists right? They weren't the ones saddam was 'taking care of', they're literally the same regime. They just found their power vacuum.

AQI was fucking shit when the US was there and kicked their ass. It's just the shia govt can't get its shit straight.

Was America not intervening in Syria gave rise to ISIS? Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

As more information is starting to come in its seems that the shooter was a repressed gay man who may have had deep sense of self-loathing, possibly triggered by an awareness that he was gay.
and prahlly that his religion thinks all gays should die. doesn't sit well with a person tbh.

And no Islam does not think all Gays should die as there is there is no such specific punishment prescribed in the Qur'an or even in the Hadiths.
Are you srs.

Then why did god kill the people of Lot?

"And (We sent) Lot when he said to his people: What! do you commit an indecency which any one in the world has not done before you? Most surely you come to males in lust besides females; nay you are an extravagant people. And the answer of his people was no other than that they said: Turn them out of your town, surely they are a people who seek to purify (themselves). So We delivered him and his followers, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind. And We rained upon them a rain; consider then what was the end of the guilty" 7:80-84.

"And as for those who are guilty of an indecency from among your women, call to witnesses against them four (witnesses) from among you; then if they bear witness confine them to the houses until death takes them away or Allah opens some way for them. And as for the two who are guilty of indecency from among you, give them both a punishment; then if they repent and amend, turn aside from them; surely Allah is oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful" 4:15-16

Look the bible says similar things and obviously the Koran draws same influences. With the exception nobody takes those scriptures in modern Christianity seriously.

You realize, the hardcore sharia countries still use the death penalty for homosexuality right? gee I guess where they got that idea from.

For the first time I have seen the term "Sunni Extremist" used instead of Muslim Extremist in these terror statistics. Its good that they are trying to be specific and more clear in their data.

How refreshing for a change.
it is still an issue
Of the total Muslim population, 10-13% are Shia Muslims and 87-90% are Sunni Muslims. Most Shias (between 68% and 80%) live in just four countries: Iran, Pakistan, India and Iraq.

id like to not-mass-shoot your mother
firstly, that would be called cyber-bullying or violence, if I take it correctly.

A definition of mass shooting is a mass shooting is an incident involving multiple victims of gun violence.
A comparison cannot be made with events in America and here in Australia, which is what some are trying to do;
to avoid the issues at hand.

Look any shooting is serious crime of course, but it is nothing comparing to the numbers say of Port Arthur which was the last significant mass-shooting in Australia.

The issues at hand are:
- Gun control
- Sunni Islam (its extreme variants)

to start it off.

How is it still an issue? On average 99% of the time terror attacks are committed by Sunni Extremists amongst Muslims. No one can possibly dispute this. Christians, Shias, Yazidis and others have been on the receiving end for majority of the time.

Btw you forgot the former Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan where the majority of the population are Shia Muslims.
I know about Azerbaijan.
I don't take issue with the four countries as much, it was just information......
But it does become concerning that, the question one has to ask is about Sunni Islam, why does it lend itself to extremism? Why does a large sect, comprised of 80% ultimately responsible for 99% of Muslim related attacks? You don't find that same trend in most other faiths.

Anyways, guess it depends on what is considered extreme. Anyone who opposes "reproductive rights" etc. is extreme? (I got that impression from the response a couple of pages earlier http://community.boredofstudies.org...killed-53-injured-act-terror.html#post7167195). Most people agree violence is extreme. But judging by some of the content of the threads, there are certainly different measures.

I think we can all agree that what happened was tragic.
I don't know the actual stats on attacks by Muslims, compared to non-Muslim, only going off that pie chart, by I am sure others would/have put such up.

As a Christian, and I think most moderate Muslims, moderate Buddhist, moderate atheists would sympathise and agree with this; I would be appalled by those who claim my own faith (one's own faith that is) and then go on a violent killing spree.

But yeah the world is like this. People killing, people dying, children hurting and them crying...

Quite frankly I find that some of the people on this thread, of course I am not exempt, whether you are SJW, left wing, right way, fascist, capitalist, communist; socialist...
need to get off their soap box, and actually doing something about these things. (Personally, I don't think Trump has the right idea sorry).

The real cause of the problem are the terrorists being terrorists.

If your housemate leaves your front door unlocked and you get burgled, it's still the burglar's fault

There had to be islamic radicals and islamic radicalism in order for the US to allow it to arise

Or you know, it conflicted with his intense islamic faith
