I can see your point, yet at the same time there is little point in moderating your tone if that is the way you feel just because the person in question happens to be dying. To some the pope was a great man, yet to many he wasn't. We cannot just show a blanket sense of respect to all who are dying just to avoid confrontation with those with a different point of view, can we?

I respect that there are many here who dislike the Pope for who he is. But I am pointing at WHAT he is, and at the moment that is an elderly man going through a prolonged and painful death.

I have such distaste for the man that i cannot hold back my prejudice. I refuse to join in with the people who hold him in such great esteem just because he was the pope. He made a lot of bad choices in his papacy and since now, his death, seems to be only the time when people actually discuss his life and the papacy, i find it to be most appropriate to speak out against his actions.
