it was removed from the list because all their offspring are "disappointments" so there wasn't any point in keeping it

i try studying as much as i can tho in school because when i get home i procrastinate a ton...
it helps that most of my friends do not have the same free periods as me (its depressing but also a blessing in disguise bc i can actually get work done)

i did all three for prelims and heres what i found out
most people end up keeping 2 out of the 3 sciences because they just hate one (or is this just me)

Honestly having my best friends at school w me makes it really fun, i think a lot of people forget about the social aspect of year 12 and how we wont see a lot of our peers after graduation but at the same time studying around them is super hard so i have a seperate friend group for that HAHAHHA

i was thinking about doing a prac for both biology and physics
the goal is to investigate the effects of high kinetic energy on the human body (which i think counts as both physics and bio?)
method:
1. get someone you hate and bring them to a high rise building (which you know the height of)
2. push them off

I didn't really find it too bad, but I think it was because I was able to partition my study time effectively.

ppl who get 99 and over are just naturally talented. The minority that do get 99+ using methods of rigorous studying have no life and have lost significant social skills. I can name 100s who did this, and its crazy how lifeless these people have become. ie never start conversation, answer questions very promptly, hugely paranoid of family friends, insanely jealous when one recieves better marks, etc.

No disrespect to those who sweat for 99, I have a bit of respect for their efforts at least which is more than can be said for the normal student. Its just personally I don't see the value of achieving academic success at the detriment of your social life/family since both are equally as valuable. (I mean I had to sweat for where I am now LOL but I don't consider myself to be someone who's afraid of talking to other ppl, jealous etc.)

I don't mind those people and I can understand how they can become 'lifeless' so I have more sympathy for them than anything else, and I hope things change in the future. There's just some people who naturally don't care abt being social than being scared of it, or those who just enjoy grinding for the sake of it with no care about the future. I feel they're more misunderstood rather than trying to be cocky etc.

I'm sure there's cases of people like you said out there but I really doubt it's a majority.

Also not sure about the 99+ range ppl being lifeless, I haven't seen any nor do i get that vibe... but my comments above are for ppl like that in general, its better you try to understand from their side than assume they're being disrespectful/arrogant.

Enjoy it while it lasts. One day you're all laughing around together on the block and next thing you know you'll be walking out of the HSC examination hall. I still have my best memories in HS with them haha. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with my HSC but I can't imagine just having the joy of seeing my ATAR only and not being w/ my friends.

I only had 1 friend that was really serious about studying like me and he got near my ATAR since we used to compete a lot, but the rest weren't as serious or they didn't get to that level.

That's literally whats going on with me. Thankfully 2 of my friends are at least in the same uni as me but they're doing different degrees which is a bummer. The worst thing is one does a degree same as one of mines (comp sci) and isn't doing the same T1 courses.

And unlike HS, you only meet the ppl in your cohort for a term and then its up to them to decide whether to do the same course in the same term/tutorial etc. basically if they're doing different degrees then its harder to meet them again in class. You can obv make acquaintances but you're not gonna have that same environment like in HS if u get what i mean, like ur friends rock up to class with u every week for 2 yrs, then yadda yadda etc. Not complaining, just something new I've realised.

Literally the only possible way to have like a group of friends together in most of your courses/classes is to have ppl doing identical degrees xD and hope they don't switch.

This is all contextual, for someone else they'll say X and someone else they'll say Y, this is purely my opinion;

I only enjoyed year 12 because I made year 12 a year where I'd kick back and enjoy as a result of my efforts in year 11. If you haven't taken Year 11 seriously or you're not already ahead, I'd urge you focus more on studying.

Do I miss high school? Yes and no:

Do I miss chilling with my friends? Yes.
Do I miss having dickhead teachers? No.
Do I miss the experience of trolling said dickhead teachers with my friends and proving them wrong? No.
Did I enjoy it? Yes.
Did I miss good teachers? Yes

Did I enjoy the HSC? 100%
Does that I mean I would retake it? Never in a million years. Ask me in my next life.

Pretty much its just being nostalgic/happy the experience has happy and reminiscing over it rather than wanting/missing it. In fact this is what hypes me up more for university since its a different feel, experience, lifestyle. It feels refreshing.

I will say one thing for sure, the fun you have in year 12 will def be different to the fun you have in uni. I'm new to uni (3rd week) and the "fun" of it really comes from its flexibility, independence, exploring the city + campus w/ ur friends and so on..

(Shout out to this idiot @temporarylol for making us run around a city for 2 hrs and getting drenched for PIZZA.)

If you decide to stay in your room 24/7, try to dip school, ignore making friends in HS - then yes, I'd say you'll have that feeling of "Fuck, maybe that extra X ATAR points I sacrificed my 2 years for wasn't worth not having a group of friends" when you don't have people to chill with after the HSC.
