Interesting. Ever since i've been at my school, we've only had a 1 week timetable.

i always forget whether it's week a or week b and by the time you're in yr 12 teachers kind of stop letting you use that as an excuse for being 'unprepared' for class.

9 periods (40 minutes) per week = 6 hours

We have 1 week timetables too.
It used to get repetitive in the junior years but I'm thankful for it now.
I hate room changes.

I used to spend them listening to music in our yr 12 common room, or going to 'Entertainment Quarter'.

I think even w/out exams, I'm going to have to actually use these 'study' periods for study.

i have 8 hours of free periods a week. with 10 units.

We are now allowed to go home if we have a free in the last period. It's nice to get home earlier, got more time at my disposal.

I have 12 hours of free period in a fornight having 11 units

I've done 12 units for the past year. (1U English Extension, 1U SOR). Our school strongly enforces the idea that it's students should do 12 units, but upon consideration by the "executive" will allow you to do 10 if you're really struggling.

Yeah, I'm aware of that

10 units is basically the best choice for me though. For several reasons.

-I do 2 subjects with major works (Visual Arts and Design and Tech) and so I will need the extra time to work on those.
-I'd probably slack off in a subject if I did 12 units, because I'd know something wasn't going to count.
-I've been unwell the past few years (Glandular Fever and Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome) and 12 units would probably just be too much for me.... I need the extra time to just study at my own pace.
-I don't have any real interest in any other subjects offered!

Sounds like a very wise choice

I have 9 free periods a fortnight, but I also have before school lessons for 4 unit maths.

Currently I have 24 1hr free periods a day, yes it's called my holidays.
