85+ is my goal. Pick the hard subjects if you do well you succeed. This is how I look at the UAI Scaling. If you do easy subjects General Mathematics,English Standard your UAI gets scaled down even if you get 100 in any of those subjects you might just get 95.
It won't scale you down that bad.
But generally, if you're doing those subjects - you aren't really aiming/expecting to do that well?

Having a high UAI leaves your options very open and flexible.

High UAI with not much idea of what you want to do > Low UAI and knowing that you can't do what you want to do

Re: What UAI are you aiming for?

I agree with Aplus wholeheartedly.

I am not even 100% if I want to do the courses I outlined above. I just want to get high UAI to leave my options open.

That's why I aim for 100 UAI. (even though the chance is like a winning a lotto!)

Nope. Lotto is based purely on luck. If you want to get 100 UAI, you can work hard and know that if you conistently put in the effort, you will be rewarded in the long term.

But I will need luck to get 100 UAI. :)

Mark =/= k times effort (where k is a constant term)

I'm sorry, what subjects do you have to do to get 99.9? 4U Maths, Latvian Continuers, Extension Latin and Extension Greek?

I think, of all people, (Lyounamu aside), The Kaiser has one of the highest chances of getting a UAI of 99.9+.
Put me aside. If you look at my exam results vs time graph, you will be taken aback by how inconsistent it is. My table is full of anomalies, abyssal slumps, several negative gradients and above all, pathetic recurrence of poor result over and over again in few subjects that I will never recover from. (unless I perform astronically well in few weeks to come)

I reckon other members like you, Aplus, Foram, bored of sc, Razizi, Sikhman, Continuum, eliseliselise, lolokay, and other 09ers (that I may have forgotten, sorr!) hold a better chance of 99+ UAI than I do. I got overestimated somehow.

Thats a good aim. Pretty sure you'll be able to get it.
Thanks, but I'm really scared about my positions. I need to get Top 2 in everything .. :cold:

Not really. Extension English for me - no effort - 8th/210. Advanced English, heaps of effort, 19th/210 (still pretty happy, but yeah). :p

That's why I said marks =/= k times effort (where k is a constant term).

That basically means marks are not proportional to the amount of effort. I could not find the sign for "proportional to" so I had to endorse the use of "k" which is a constant term.

Of course, the level of effort will have a crucial impact on it but it won't determine your marks.

Hey simdim. Those rankings are quite close to a 90-93 UAI. Try boosting your Advanced English, Business Studies, and Legal Studies ranking to top 5. That would probably get you that UAI aim you deserve :).

Good luck.

Re: What UAI are you aiming for?

How much courses can you apply for at one uni? Because i may not get a UAI of 98+ since i am not putting that much effort into Year 11.
