Good luck with it. Ive been having abdomen pains for some time now. Doctor says its because of too much acid in me (GERD) and its affecting my body. But i also get cramps now so im going to see another doctor that specialises in that field. I hate being sick :(

Gee that sucks! Have you tried taking opmerazole? Thats a anti-reflux drug thats good for gastro problems. Or zantac.

Good luck wtih the ultrasound!

Oh have you thought it might be a bowel thing? It might have similar symptoms?

ure more likely to have an intestinal ulcer..

but the endoscopy diagnose.. why u got an ultrasound is a lil weird?... :S...

i think taking a med like pantoprazole, omeprazole and esomeprazole should help.. otherwise the ranitadine lik zantac should provide some pain relief..

edit: as rozymisty said... i miissed her post :(

the weight loss in ulcers are from the chronic infection state.. its lik being ill all the time.. i suspect if u have been using like certain meds lately.. u either have a oesophageal function problem or gastric erosions.. gastric ulcers are rarer.. and u wouldnt be this well.

Ive been taking nexium but it doesnt completely fix up my acid problem. Its been months since i started and if i dont take the med for like 2-3 days i feel the burning..............its so annoying like a year ago i never had problems like this i was better off.

Have you been tested for that H. po whats its called. that bug that those Aussies won the Nobel price coz that guy ingested the bacteria to prove that the bacteria cause ulcers? Coz then if you treat the infection, you can get yourself off those medications which apparently only mask the problems. Or I could be wrong, never done much gastro stuff.

Talk to your doctor and maybe get a referal to a gastrologist (if thats the right name lol)..no no gastroenterlogist. lol

the ultrasound is possibly to rule out anything more sinister.
i was thinking it was a gastric ulcer as opposed to a duodenal due to the fact that when i eat it gets a millions times worse

fucking helicobacter pylori (i think thats what they are)

Awww I feel your pain. Ive had stomach trouble for ages. I have GERD (been taking nexium for ages) and I finally discovered after about 4 yrs, a million tests and a false diagnosis of celiac disease that I have IBS.

Hope all goes well for you guys.

Still working on it lol.

I only really get the stomach pains, bloating, no constipation and diarrhea thankfully (which is why it took so long to diagnose!). Basically I just avoid all 'trigger foods', which is just fatty foods, soft drinks and a few other things for me, and when it gets bad i take drugs , sometimes panadine, sometimes an IBS drug called colafac (depending on what kind of symptom it is at the time). But generally im drug free and just avoid fatty foods (havent had maccas in years!).

That seems to have worked for me in the past but lately its been playing up :( Its a crappy thing to have because theres really no definite 'cure' or drug that works.

interesting fact #1.. its only in classic gastric ulcers.. which are lik.. fairly uncommon.. so yeah..

they they should check around..

interesting fact #2.. when dr marshall drank it.. he got gastritis.. so it wasnt completely true for ulcers :p.. cos gastritis does not always lead to ulcers..
have bumpmed into him tho.. and dr warren.. ... in the men's room during a medical convention ... "so.. how was that nobel prize?"

good luck tho :D

there is a special diet..

similar to coeliacs disease..

u can take mint pills which seem to relieve the symptoms.. laxatives and fibre

you should get screened for psychiatric problems.. and have those sorted.. which can relieve the IBS.. cos there some feel that its a somatisation disorder:)
