anyway

a gene is a section of a chromosome that contains info. for a particular characteristic/protein
e.g the gene for eye colour

an allele is alternative forms of a gene or characteristic at the same position on homologous chromosomes e.g the alleles for the eye colour gene can be blue allele, brown allele etc

I thought I'd contribute anyway.

Chromosomes = 60% protein (histone) + 40% DNA.

Gene = small section / length of DNA that join together to form chromosomes.

Allele = alternative forms of trait. For example, trait (one I like to use) = height, alternatives = tall / short.
