The people who thought it was easy probably did 4-unit. The people who just did 2-unit and 3-unit would've found it hard - exhibit A and B.

Not necessarily, but some things in 4-unit can be used to make 3-unit more efficient.

nah, they're referring to the candidature. 4u kids are often more mathematically capable and will do better

Maybe. If you're capable of doing 4u (particularly the harder 3u area), then you should be able to tackle those corresponding topics in 3u.
