for the ppl who got like over 99.5 ,

did u ace every assement?
Were you ranked in the top ten in all your subs?
did u study 5+ hours a day?

I want a uai above 99.6 but so far my ranks and marks indicate I will probably get close to 98+ so far, should I be getting (or at least attempting) like close to full marks in every trial exam in order to even cross 99?

LOL, you want 99.6? And here I am, hoping that my UAI will say something other than you scored <30 ;)

Oh, and your question, I have no idea ;)

Depending on your school, being ranked in the top 10 would usually be a necessity for 99+.

You don't necessarily need close to top marks in all of your trial exams; trials are often harder than the HSC exams. Doing very well in them might be some indication of your HSC performance though. It can be useful to use them as they were meant to be used, however; as practice HSC exams. Ideally, you should know your courses before the trials, and then you need only revise after them (as opposed to studying new material), and that way the HSC exams themselves seem like a second attempt.

oh man ... 99.6
that's a little specific :)

but good on you,
i'd be happy with a nice 90.00
(okay, maybe not ... but somewhere in the 90s, not 99.xx)

if you can do it, go for it :)
but don't get your hopes up.
i say ... aim low, achieve high
rather than getting your hopes up for 99.95 (for example) and being upset/unhappy with anything less.

some people are like that though,

I'm in the same situation. I wanted 99.5 at the start (and yr 11 indicated to me that it was possible) but now I'll be happy with 98. (it's not that I over estimated, my ranks have taken a pounding this year due to a number of reasons).
