I have heard that and on the RTA website it has not mentioned it so I am not 100% sure about it.

As someone else said, being a good driver isn't just about keeping speed, changing gears or being able to park perfectly. It's about handling yourself in a potentially deadly situation. Just because you drive safely does not mean you're a good driver, it just means you have the intentions of being one.
You're cocky just like all new drivers, and this is why they have the highest percentage of crashes.

100 hours is not a lot of hours (in light of no compulsary advanced driver training courses)
Not true. Statistically speaking, new drivers have the lowest percentage of crashes.
Your the first person i have heard who is my age who wants the hours the same.
I agree with you, i understand that a good driver is experience, however the hours are ideal to NSW socio-economic status, the majority of people cannot do it, and then it will push people to committing fraud on it.
True, the mostly likely are people whom have had their license for many years
the media only cares about young drivers because it is easy to stir society that way
I was referring to P platers in that line.

The 120 hours is a put off, it's so much that I've had my Ls for 2 years and still havn't started driving, 0 hours on the table.

2009 there were 59000 crashes (light vehicle) in nsw, 10800 were p platers and 39000 were fully licenced drivers

It was previously on the RTA website but they took it off.
You can get up to 10 hours tripled on your log book if you do it with a driving instructor but that's still a lot of hours to go.
I still haven't got my license and my parents refuse to teach me how to drive.

I wasn't saying it should be cut to 20-30 hours, I was just stating I think it does get to a certain point where it just becomes a hassle because you have to have your parents with you. I hired a driving instructer, which is damn expensive, but easy hours.
I don't even care about doing 120 hours.
It's more the idea of hours that annoy me. Like, I could drive 80km in one hour, while someone could be stuck in traffic and drive 20km in 1 hour, which hardly counts for the same amount of experience.
