What is the ratio of girls to guys in engineering courses generally? Because i'm worried that i'm gonna be stuck with like all guys and 2 girls or something :$

A unique phenomenon may be observed among the engineering student.

Due to the skewed sex ratio, the males will attach themselves to one of the three or four females available. This creates a large herd around the female, of which at least some can be found following the female at any given point of the day.

This is known as the Shepherd Effect, for the flock-like appearance of the males following their chosen female in a desperate bid for a moment of her attention.

Hehehe it looks like i'm going to have fun next year in engineering ^_^

But yes, there will be a skewed ratio of females to males. I am predicting something like 1:40 :)

That's probably gonna happen. Female engineers are like male nurses.

The females display a mixed reaction to their new-found flocks. Some see it as a symbol of their prowess; most as an irritation.

About 24% girls in Civil Engineering

You also do about half the course with Environmental Engineering (about 50% girls)

So you are outnumbered but it's not as bad as some think.

I really really really like the idea of the boys carrying the girls books.

But I think the boys will be way too nerdy and shy to have the courage to offer.

:spin:
