Depends on the Graphic novel. Most I'd say probably best to stay clear of.

For example Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi would be something that english teachers would be impressed enough with.

Thought so. I was thinking of Logicomix by Apostolos Doxiadis and Christos Papadimitriou pretty much because I enjoyed it, however I may reconsider the idea altogether. Thank you for the lightning reply though. :)
Double check with your english teacher though it may work alright depending on your ideas.
