After spending last week in Fiji where nearly every second person had their hair braided and one in 20 actually looked good, is it just me, or is the whole hair braiding thing rather tacky???

I have never seen an attractive girl with braided hair. I think it's partly because hair braiding makes them look more ugly than normal but also because the really hot chicks have more sense than to intentionally make themselves ugly by having it done in the first place.

Depends on so many things, you can' t just rule out a fashion like that.

i got my hair braided in bali. it mightnt've looked that hot, but it definitely made you a lot cooler and you didnt have to worry about knots, brushing/putting up your hair, etc. or about every second shop owner wanting to do your hair.
the only neg i found was that i had a heap more flyaways, and that my hair was REALLY boofy and looked majorly crimped when we took it out (and it took about 30mins to take out). as for how you look, you dont really give a crap when you're over there, you're just thinking of having fun and enjoying your holiday

braiding stuff through plaits can look nice...but having ribbons at the end definitely screams out "KINDY KID"...or just "mummy's girl"/"very good girl" (or if you're at a strict catholic school, maybe "i'm only doing this so i dont get in crap")

yeah, it depends how its done. if its all tight and brushed and ribboned etc it looks really kindy like, but if you kinda mess it up a little and dont use crappy ribbon it looks goodtempco said:
