This is a pretty interesting question i think:
To what extent was Hitler's rise to power in the period 1928-1933 the result of the great depression?
So far I think that the great depression certainly did make the task easier for Hitler but it alone could not have bought hitler into power.

- I guess the political instability affected that rise of power (Weak coalitions etc)
- The extensive political intrigue going around in Hindenburg's circle (i.e. Schlieder and all those militaristic people affect decision)
- And what about the SPD's inability to cooperate with other parties so they could undermine Hitlers e.g. when they had full majority they could have done a lot but they did not (due to conflicits etc).
