with that sort of ranks (3 rank 1s) it doesnt really matter what school he goes to anyway he looks set for a uai 90+

only if he and others to well in the external exams...getting high ranks does not necessarily guarantee high HSC marks and high UAI, same applies for low ranks.

I don't think my school will be, it is a private all boys catholic school on the Central Coast.

because the school ranks actually mean a hell of a lot. you could top a school (and maybe the whole surrounding area) thats in the western burbs of sydney and you might only score around 80 whereas coming close to last in the top 3 schools could still mean 85.
