Simple Question, I need to be 3 Maths Classes higher. Is it suicide to be doing 2-3 Hours a night?

Id suggest only doing maths in prelim. Other subjects you can just start when the marks begin to count .:)

hey u in yr 11? i am. I know when I was in yr 10 the same thing happened to me .... needed to b 3 maths classes higher. I just studied on the bus home ... which was an hour and had a maths tutor (which happened to be my dad) for an hour, and did my own study for 1 hour. But i got their and a high band 5 in my SC so .... it paid off! But just do however many you seem comfortable with!!!! Leave time for other subjects though.

how come u need to be 3 classes higher? i do kinda know how you feel though with the study thing... im doing mathematics this year and even though id been warned about it, stupid little me kept on thinking "it'll be ok, i did advanced last year, wats the problem?" little dreaming of the work involved. its only the second day of school n we already have STACKS of homework just for math. meh. so if u wanna move up 3 classes u would still hav to work pretty hard once u got there to stay on top... good luck though, i hope u do get there! :)

I got to do MEX2, My school only offers this for the first two classes. Why study 3 hours, well when you get to the top off the first assesment. It just is easier to maintain those marks.

3hrs seems too much...but so would 2....
usually, when you study that long an amount of time, you get distracted. maybe try 2x 1 hour with breaks between them. like 1 before and 1 after dinner.

I see, so if you do up to 4 Hours in yr11. Your nuts, 2 Hours is reasonable.

You don't wanna burn yourself out! I did approx 3 hrs per night in Year 11. Didn't do more coz I had no frees and no more hours in the day. In Year 12 I did bout 3-3.5 hours per night, plus an extra hour in my daily free. It's important to keep a balance!

Effective study, As in. After x number of hours, it becomes pointless. Nothing is covered.

Nothing is covered when you already know it all.

maybe you should try things that aren't necessarily studying.

liek put formulae on posters on ur wall.

You aren't really studying, just constantly reinforcing ur knowledge.

apart from that, do ur homework, then do everything you learnt that day in class again.

1 Hours study a night is more than enuf, especially for the useless Prelim HSC. U dont need to study at all unless you need to go up classes or the stuff you do in Prelim is in the HSC course. I didnt study daily, just before the HSC itself, UAI of 79 :)
