yeh.. well im lucky.. ive only got 1 more year of the shit.. n then... i can have long fingernails.. bhahahahaa

ahaha when i quit, i kind of grew my fingernails. they got damn annoying because i was so used to having them short. theyre still short now !

I can sightread .. i do accompanying sometimes! (good pay too!)

I dunno.. I guess it just comes with playing a lot! (not because you have to, because you want to)

Oh I play the piano btw.

My sight reading is probably the strongest facet of my Aural section in music exams. Although i don't think i need to sight read for A.MUS.A
However my timing when i sight read is really bad. REAL BAD!!

sightreading has pretty much been what i've been doing for the past 7 years...
and i guess i wasn't bad at it from the very beginning..
i'm only a puny lil grade.......
well i finished grade 2 -> 7 years ago.

and never continued learning, but continued playing till today!
and well.. first two grades is probably nothing. but i got 9/10 and 10/10 for sightreading! haha

but i think.. more practice is the way
and continuously , like everyday.
try playing new songs every now and then.. etc.

play 'songs' that you're not familiar with, get someone to sing the lyrics, and you'll be pressured to play it right first go haha..

or
get someone approx the same as you or better to play a whole new piece with you. as in... you play left, that person plays right or vice versa..
that way, you'd have to play it correctly to match the other person.
again.. a bit of pressure i suppose.

I suck at sightreading. I can only do it at MM 30. As for perfect pitch, when I was doing aural training there were days when I had it and days that I didn't. Now that I've stopped though I can barely remember A or C. I do know the frequencies though, not that it will ever help.

Bah Aural isn't bad. Work on your relative pitch though. If ever you quit, sightreading won't matter for nuts, but having good pitch is way cool. I can tell what kind of train is coming by listening to the whistle of the wheels.

i suck at sightreading >.<

just pick up any song + try playing it.. and pretend ur in an exam.. do that over + over again.. thats the only way to improve ur sightreading skills.

i hate aural too \=

I haven't played the piano since I was eight. I'm a Clarinetist now.

i play the flute a bit. It makes me real tired. And i get dizzy, like i'm hyperventilating.

That's dangerous, means you're directing too much air pressure into the flute (not to mention holding your breath for too long). You need to work on your breathing technique and do some exercises, with time you won't get dizzy anymore.
