How many books have you read so far? (1 Viewer)

probably about 15-20.
but i read non-fiction books.
so i tend to read about the shit i have read in the books on the internet..
or argue about points.. i tend to 'think' over books a lot..
stuff like that.
usually books about religion, history, politics, environmental studies, self help..
the only fiction books i tend to read are ones about dogs (i love animals lol) or books that are from credible authors.. i read some of Tim Winton... i started reading him though partly because of his interest in the environment.

I've probably read about 10 because I've been procrastinating a bit. I take about 3 days to a week to read each book because I read out loud in short sittings with a dictionary, the only exception where I don't do this is with newspaper articles and Harry Potter, lol. Develops my speech and pronunciation, as well as comprehension.

lol i always have a dictionary by my side..
any new words i find i write them on a big poster on my wall to try and learn them.. i also keep them in a small pocket flip book and practice using them in the day...
a bit of a nerd
and lol sometimes i steal peoples jokes and sayings..
but i have been doing that less and have started to develop my own. haha.

quality over quantity, imo.

come on, if most of what you read are those fatass epics/classics which could be used as a weapon, it's unlikely that you'd get through 10-15+ a year.

but having said that, i'm not particularly hot on having to use a dictionary for every nth word.

The Book Thief was excellent.

I'm currently reading the Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy and that makes book number 11.

I've read about 15/20 guilty pleasures this year, 15 solid good reads and 10 blegh books.

I like my guilty pleasures - Dean Koontz or other random crime novels are very fun to read on the train.

I do that too. You pick up things you did not notice during the first reading.

excluding school i have read according to my library card from the local library 45 books but i'm an extremely fast reader. And i know every novel i have borrowed out from the library I have read. for school i have read 4 books

The elderly and unemployed would have read heaps more on average and balanced out against those who are a book per year type peoples. I think if I were to read perpetually (instead of spending all that procrastinating), I'd get close to a hundred books annually.

so that means i read about 60 books a year lol

sounds about right lol

ive read 10 in the last 2 months:
twilight, new moon, elclipse (series,, exelent!)
wuthering heights
before i die (good)
how could she (ture story, realy heartbreaking =[)
a thousand splendid suns (good read!)
tomorow series books 4 and 5
to kill a mocking bird (currently reading for school)

im also about to to read the twilight ones again this weekend because the new book comes out on MONDAY!!!

Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Macbeth, all narnia books (7), The Golden Compass, Eragon, Wuthering Heights, HP7, HP5, Sense and Sensibility, The Host, Trumpalar, With the Light 1, With the Light 2, The Dreaming (3), Leven Thumps, Of Mice and Men.

Thats all i can think of now.. there's alot more..but..ermm..i cant remember..

26 books in 6 months, that makes 52 an entire year..

I've read no books since year 8. It's a bit sad, but meh. I still read newspapers and random stuff on the internet to keep my vocab up, but for some reason, I just can't sit down with a book and read.
