Reckon we've got more. :p About 195 out of 210 do Extension 1 Maths. And 100% do Extension 1 English.

Yea, selective schools are full of people doing 3u Math. It's cause it's a requirement for 4u math, and everybody wants to do 4u math. And also because 3u math scales well. The best scaling non-language subjects are definantly 4u Math and 3u Math.

maybe 40-50% 3u english, don't really know, never really cared much about it; too much work, from what i've heard, anyway.

Extension 1 English doesn't have that much work.

Maybe at your school. English Extension 1 is the subject with the most workload at ours.

people at our school say english extension has the most work too - because they chill out (eating cake and biscuits (literally)) and then get one week to do a 2000 word story and speech :(

i am sad i didn't do it for the free cake :( but i am happy cause the workload is large; too large :)

I'd say that, in class, Extension Maths has more work but as for assignments Ext. English requires more work.
They are about the same in overall workload for me.

Just English ext. for me. Very very easy... doesn't seem like we're actually learning all that much.

I'm doing both extensions and I can tell you this much, I'm only going to take Ext. Maths on with me to the HSC and probably do Ext. 2 Maths and Ext. 1 Japanese. Ext. Eng is really not worth the time you put into it :p

A lot of people do that, they drop 3U english for 4U math in year 12. 4U math is proberbly easier than trying to get good marks in english.

exactly, fjnpenguin.

Some people might just find Extensions easy, some don't. The HSC is just about doing subjects you rock at to score you the best UAI, not just to do Extensions to look good or use it as a means to measure intelligence or something...
