I dont know about you guys, but whenever i go onto the computer to do homework or an assignment,
i end up on msn
or facebook
or here
and just waste hours doing nothing
and then sit back and try to evaluate how to prevent this being repeated

so any ideas? whats the best way to stop these distractions taking over important work time?

as my year master at waverley says

if want to come to school and do the hsc

throw out your mobile
get a brick and smash your computer
and tell your gf to fuck off
firstly, haha
secondly, you go to waverly? some of friends know people from there..

thankyou everyone for the advice
i think the reality of exams has finally being absorbed by my brain
yesterday i worked for 3.5 hours without even thinking about msn or facebook or here..

Think of consequences. What difference will it make to your assignment/exam results if you went on MSN or Facebook right now? It could potentially make a huge difference (not really... but you know what I mean). Motivate yourself that way! :)
What I need to do is exactly that, at the moment :D..............

N/A
my dad once asked me if i wanted 5 points higher on my UAI
after i said yes
he walked over and pulled out the modem cable.

you just have to do it.

you know it will benefit you.

ps i think its ironic that tendency to go on this site probably causes me more damage than good

Generally, study far away from a computer.
D: if you're given money to study for 4 hours while minding an internet cafe, do not, under any circumstances, get too addicted to using the computer while said study is theoretically occuring is not a good idea.

You could make people yell at you every time you get bored and go onto MSN etc while you're meant to be studying =]. Or ask them to ignore you.
