well it wouldnt hurt by doing some squats, lunges. standing with one leg on a wobble board...etc

shit, what do you mean balanced? do you mean like balancing on one leg type balance?

try balancing on the train - stand without holding onto anything the whole way home ...
yeh ive been practicing for so long now, i find i have excellent balance now ...
its all about weight distribution ...

Stand on one leg. Seriously - practise exercises where you HAVE to balance... pretty soon you'll be able to (or fall over).
Martial arts does help balance.

you can get this thing called an indo board. its hard as fuck, but if you can do it then it's so good for your balance.

try leaning over on your toes as far forward as you can without falling, and hold it without falling on ur face. or just deliberately put yourself in a position where balance is really hard, coz if u practice the hard stuff you'll find the rest easier when u get good at it, if that makes sense?
