no, what you're forgetting is that for love to work, two people have to feel equally strong. one person can love someone else very much, purely and truely, and still not have it work for them because its not what the other person wants. i count that as part of it failing, because love draws one into that situation.

true love can't be reached by only one partner in other words. the love won't be true and strong at all because for love to succeed in truth, the same love must be received from the other partner.

only when both chanels are strong with pure love will there be success.

unfortunately nowadays many are getting married without that true and pure love, the result is the rising divorce rate.

not at all. you made the statement that the alternative to love is lust. if its not love, its a lust-based relationship. however, this implies that the difference lust and love is that in a loving relationship one's emotions are returned and in a lustful relationship they are not. that seems, to me, to be a ridiculous idea, as the characteristics of love and lust are different.

you tried to criticise my statement about love as an emotion, but you then tried to misrepresent it about being about relationships. it wasn't. my statement was entirely about love as an emotion, and you don't need it reciprocated to feel love for someone. the discussion is defining 'love' not 'a healthy loving relationship'

and i stand by my statement of love failing too often. i think its one of the crueler emotions
