no i meant after HSC, cause my rents want me to go to VN, apparenlty it would look embrassing if i dont know much viet, even though i speak fluent viet .. or so i think .. my reafing and writing is like an old grandma cant see the words.. so yeah -_-"

nah i dont think they are strict compared to other viets. SO i'd say no, but they can get a tad annoyinfg... but i guess every azns parents are annoying right?

If you're doing HSC Vietnamese, and want some good notes, then you must be crazy.

What do you guys mean by "Vietnamese Continuers scales you down"? I was always brainwashed into thinking that if I did poorly, then it would be kicked out of my top 10 units for Year 12.

I'm doing Vietnamese for preliminary next year.

So far, Year 10 has been incredulously hard. What we learn is 100% Vietnamese, but I doubt it would be any easier in the future even as with 50% English learning.

I find it slack how Vietnamese in senior years is pretty much designed for only international students.

And stop feeling sorry/sad for the international students. Their parents are multimillionaires and they get prioritised in university!

EDIT: Oh yeah, I "accelerated" (I'm one grade higher in language school). I'm not sure if it's an advantage or not, but at least I won't be wasting my time in Year 12.

Okay im gonna agree with u that students with money r prioritised, but the HSC viet is NOT designed for ONLY overseas students. Im doin yr 12 viet at my school and im like the only AB"V" in my class but still doing quite well. I wont tell u where I get my sources from but i can definitely say that the syllabus actually is balanced in both eng & viet content, which actually slightly favours those that lived most of their lives in Aus bcuz the senior course focuses on aus-viet social & cultural issues which not many international students have in-depth knowledge of.
