Contrary to what 'kangaroo' claims that hurricane katrina was caused by an angry god punishing America  , here a website claims hurricane Katrina was actually the result of 'weather modification' weapons technology.

Here is the site and the proof of how such a weather weapon works.... ;)

I said that God had simply ALLOWED this catastrophy, because of our sins and in particular the deep mortal sin that New Orleans has allowed (i.e pornography, prostitution, homosexuality, gambling, abortions, crime & drugs etc etc). There is no reason why this could've just ''started" because of weather patterns, but God has none the less allowed it to happen. God is merciful, so He wouldn't just go crazy and attck the world in anger. If God our Father had struck the Earth, we all would feel it.
HAHAHA! "OUR SINS" Have you moved to America? WOOHOO!!! :D
But back to the topic, what do you think of the webpage on secret weather weapons? ;)

-The disaster was caused by a weapon or some huge conspiracy theory.

Which of these two realistic options should I believe?! They are just both so believable.

Is there any Alien theories? I want an Alien theory.. I believe ET did it. Not JC, ET.
People love mass destruction weapons, aliens and scary religious stuff.

Poor nature is bawling her eyes out in the corner.

I don't see how tht sight presented any proof.

Yes Russia did develope 'weather weapons'. These were rain-seeders (a chemical meant to make rain more likely??) these were fired from anti-aircraft guns to bring more rain down on the huge co-ops. There are several american companies who privately offer the same sort of thing though usually via an aerial delivery.

No-one posses the technology or infrastructure required to influence a storm the scale of katrina. These stroms are to dangerous to fly into so the only choice would be AA delivery which needless to say would be; hard to co-ordinate, impossible to do accurately, not flexible enough and finally incredibly obvious.

The author seems to believe three chief fallacies:

That the technologies to create a storm are in any way similar to those needed to create an earthquake.
That Russia is attacking the US.
That weather can be influenced on this scale and that aeroplace contrails have something to do with it.

...................................

As an associated thought during WWII the americans were developing a tidal wave bomb off the coast of NZ. The intention was to trigger siesmic movements and thus induce a tsunami. The end-goal being an alternative to the A-bomb.

I believe weather modification was looked into by the US, but they decided it could be bad to mess with nature, leading possibly to them being a fault when a hurricane hits another country or whatever.

I also believe the UN security council banned weather 'weaponry' or something like that.

If I were you, I would be very careful of anything derogatory or demeaning you say about our Lord God. Sure you may not pay for it now or answer to Him today, but soon enough it will all unfold in front of your eyes. The very last book in Scripture is alreading starting to fulfill itself. Soon enough there will be nothing anybody on Earth can do to help athiests spiritually to help their souls. By now you should know, what is a sin and what isn't, your living in a pre-dominantly Christian nation after all.
Gosh, I can't believe you are still on this - didn't you raise similar ideas in another forum about homophobia???

Anyhoo - why would the Lord GOD Omnipotent which is, and which was, and which is to come the Almighty visit destruction on America's Bible heartland? According to the US census, New Orleans in particular and Louisiana in general have one of the highest concentrations of consecrated churches in the country and Louisiana has the second highest weekly Sunday church-going population (behind Utah). I ask you - why would GOD choose to begin the events foretold in the Revelation of St John the Devine there, as opposed to, say San Fran or LA - or Amsterdam?

Leave the fire and brimstone sermons for the pulpit, please.

@ kangaroo, "Like I said theres no reason why this disaster could have just started because of general weather patterns."

Who said that this was caused by weather patterns? where are you getting these crazy ideas? The hurricane was a result of soviet geo-weapons which can direct hurricanes against their enemies. Does god live in the former soviet union?

He is, but you have to do your part. One cannot sin all their life and when they die expect God to be merciful for their actions and thoughts. No, His divine mercy is attainable on Earth. He is forgiving. But you cannot "Do nothing" and expect God to forgive you. You must confess, give up your "human ways," follow in His son's footsteps and try hard to obey ALL of His laws. When you sin, you fall, and will keep falling unless you go to Jesus for help. Jesus died for our sins, that doesn't mean we can live a sinful life and be forgiven without "Doing something" about it.
dude i hear where your coming from but sometimes religion just doesn't fit into everything...
u get what i'm saying i see how it's applicable but sometimes it doesn't really stick with ppl
think about it this way if everyone thought about it in that way we would not be here debating it that's the beauty of life we are all different and that's waht makes me beautiful.

Kangaroo - are you a Calvinist?

Anyhoo,

kangaroo said:
You said "choose" America. Like I said theres no reason why this disaster could have just started because of general weather patterns. Thus, God ALLOWED this disaster to happen.
Let's not let this debate turn on trivial semantics. Even if I accepted your contention that the Almighty allowed this hurricane to visit such destruction on this most pious section of the United States it still seems odd that the Lord would allow such devistation given the 'debauchery' of New Orleans is but one minor part of the city's life and, certainly, if you look at the area of destruction, the older part of the city (the French Quarter - where are located the most infamous 'dens of sin') was not nearly as badly affected as the wholesome, suburban '7th heaven belt' around the city, where the churches of Christ Church, Bay Saint Louis; Trinity, Pass Christian; St. Patrick’s, Long Beach; St. Peter’s, Gulfport; St. Mark’s, Gulfport; and Redeemer, Biloxi were all levelled to the ground - odd that.

kangaroo said:
Going to church isn't enough to save your eternal soul. Like I said New Orleans had accepted much sin, most of which is are the most abdominable in our Lord's eyes. So by going to church and still committing these sins, completely opposes each other and is absolutely futile, unless they made a concerted effort to STOP this sin. Since it was still accepted by society then they were destined to fall, as always foretold in the bible.
Firstly - the 'sin' badge is usually applied to New Orleans by people who fail to realise that the 'Mardi Gras' of New Orleans is nothing like Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras but is actually a Christian religious festival celebrated in all devoutly Catholic episcopates from Bavaria to Brazil.

Secondly, if you were aware of the nature of the political climate in New Orleans, especially that surrounding the election of Ray Nagin and Marc Morial as mayors - you would be aware that, what 'sin and vice' there existed in New Orleans was deeply opposed by the wider community - the very people whom, according to your arguement, have been condemned to face the fury of Nature to attone for their sins. Here is where your argument faces one of its most dire fallacies - if we accepted that Katrina's devastation was allowed by God in order to punish sinners who had refused to attone for their 'sins' then, by the logical processes of Natural Reason with which the self same Lord has endowed us, we would expect those sinners to have been punished - yet this was not what happened. Those caught in the fury were, predominatly ordinary Louisianians whse lives consisted of a house in the suburbs and 2.1 children.

Even if we were to agree that your definition of 'sin' is correct, and even if we were to agree that such sin was present in New Orleans, and even if we were to agree that Katrina was an act of Nature allowed by God Himself, your argument still fails because:

(a) the bars, brothels and other houses of sin were owned by the wealthy white middle class who had the means to escape with their lives and most valued property in tact - thus avoiding the premature Dies Irae; and

(b) the 'sinners' who visited New Orleans for the sins of sex, drugs, alcohol and jazz music have always been tourists who were safely tucked up in their beds in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Utah and elsewhere (probably still sinning, those darn sinners!) when the hurricane struck - thus avoiding the wrath of the Lord.

Thus - even if we accepted your premises - the people to suffer most have been the poor working class righteous African American community: the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek (sound familiar? Have a flick through your Gospel of St Matthew). These are the people most embracing of the Lord. Your whole arguement fails because, even if your premises are accepted, the consequences are directly inconsistent with the argument you make.

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Like all good Chirstians, Kangaroo, you would be better served lending a helping hand your brothers and sisters - your fellow Children of the Lamb - rather than prancing about condemning them.

I thought that all sins are equal before God, except for blaspheming the Holy Spirit?
***
The topic reminded me of a joke I heard the other day: (imagine this in Dubya's voice)
"My Fellow Americans, Due to the recent Tragedies in New Orleans and Texas, we have done some research on the Enemy. We have found that Hurricanes are a natural phenomenon, caused by the Moon. We will not stand for this!
The Yew-nited States of America is therefore launching 50 nucular missiles at the Moon, in order to take The Fight to the Enemy's home turf.
Once the Enemy of the People, the Moon, is destroyed, hurricanes will cease.
God Bless America."
