Pride comes from self-assurance I think, so that confidence approaches arrogance as it appears in a greater magnitude.
Bah, but where to draw the line?!

uh being rich doesn't make you better than anyone else.
No, i mean if the person who is "arrogant" was better in general...

Say person A is better than person B. Person A makes it clear that they think they are better than person B. Is this arrogance or confidence?

It is arrogance to look down on other people whether or not you are better. If you aren't really (though Im not really even sure what that means), its arrogance because its pretending to be something you're not and insisting on that upon others. If you are really, its arrogance because you're flaunting a superior status only to put the other down.

and i wouldn't classify it as arrogance unless you used your height to make me feel "small" in relation to my height and emotionally.
What if i got higher grades than you and looked down upon you?

What if i was more intelligent than you and looked down upon you?

*prays that you won't reply with "But you can't measure that..."*

sorry dude

but you can't measure intelligence. everyone is good at different things and more "intelligent" in reference to certain subjects at school for example.

even if you were taller, or richer, or smarter, you stating the truth can be taken as a sign of arrogance. i mean, why do you feel the need to state the facts?

then again, people who brag or supposedly state the obvious are quite commonly insecure people... and they suck.

ok

and why would you be arrogant or brag about running fast?

those people don't have confidence, they are insecure (as nekkid so cleverly said)
