But seriously, it is not the end of life, although u have made urself a longer road to your aim, u just need to perservere....

What you need to realise is that: there IS a life after HSC.

Only thing HSC provides you is basically the entry into your desired uni course. And even if you didn't initially get in, there is a chance for you to pick up during uni time and transfer to better course/university.
