Justin is going to the shops with Tennille for a couple of hours, then they're going to come back here, play with the pups, go out to dinner with the family and spend the evening watching DVDs. No complaints here.

Ack. On that note, Justin must be off. He hopes Marcus enjoys his three tasks, and that Katie enjoys the remainder of her day with whatever she has planned. :)

Marcus doesn't talk to the plants in his garden (but he does talk alot to his cats). He sings to the plants in his garden. He thinks they seem to like it.

Katie thinks its good therapy to talk to things. Often Katie finds herself shouting at the television or talking to food she is making. She thinks that if there were cameras in her house she would make very interesting viewing as she is sure most people dont talk to inanimate objects as much as she does. However she thinks that this is not abnormal as long as she continues to talk to people as well as inanimate objects. Katie must confess that she has never sung to anything though. She wonders what Marcus sings to his plants?

Marcus doesn't have a problem talking to inanimate objects. :). Marcus often sings folk songs to the plants - folk songs from Greece and Bulgaria mainly. He tries to avoid singing rock music to them.

Katie thinks it must be wonderful to know folk songs. She is many generations Australian and is sometimes sad that she doesnt have as rich a cultural heritage as many of her friends although she does like the term dinky di aussie and blue singlets.

Marcus believes that Katie should be proud of her Australian cultural heritage...Even though Australia and culture are rarely used in the same sentence ;). Marcus believes that this, however, shouldn't be a barrier to Katie learning folk songs from other cultures.

Katie is proud of being Australian but does feel a little bit left out when her friends talk about various traditions of their respective cultures. The only tradition Katie seems to follow would be constantly drinking tea, which she thinks comes from a distant connection to England. Katie thinks that Peter Allen songs should be considered Australian folk songs and loves to sing them. Katie wonders if Marcus speaks other languages?

Thomas agrees with Katie that sometimes Australia seems to lack those cultural traditions so strong in other people. Thomas doesn't even drink tea. He hates tea. And coffee for that matter. Thomas is thorougly enjoying Tim Winton's 'Dirt Music' and recommends it to everyone. Thomas would also like to tell a story about Thomas Aquinas. Thomas Aquinas is a saint that wrote books (I think). And he dictated the various chapters of his books to five different secretaries. Each secretary would be assigned a different chapter and Thomas Aquinas would be able to dictate the chapters simultaneously without losing his place in any of them. Interesting eh?

Katie thanks Thomas for the information about Thomas Aquinas and confesses the only thing she knew about him was that he was rather tubby and cut a hole in the edge of his table so he could sit in really close. She thinks. Like Thomas, Katie also hates coffee even though she worked for a year and a bit at Gloria Jeans. Katies family drinks lots and lots of tea, mostly Bushels although Katie likes Darjeeling and Irish Breakfast.

LOL!!!! Super Katie knows how to make Alan laugh!!

Alan would like to wish Lynn Happy Birthday, regardless of her absence and say that even though she is not as youthful (of sexy) as Alan, her age has not gotten in the way of her beauty!

In reference to tea, Alan must confess he detests english tea. Well, he hates all that tea in prepacked tea bags people buy in the supermarket. Frankly, Alan cant taste much difference among the varieties. He loves green, jasmine and chrysamthemum (Arghh, Alan cant spell, seiously. :D )

Alan also happens to be very dissapointed in Marcus for not singing Rock songs to his plants :vcross:

Marcus apologises to Katie for having left abruptly earlier. His mum really needed to use the computer and he didn't have time to compose an explanation. In answer to Katie's question, Marcus does speak other languages. He speaks a fair amount of Greek and a fair amount of Chinese (Greek he learnt from home, and Chinese he studied for three years), plus little bits of Bulgarian and Ladino (the language of the Sephardic Jews), which he has picked up from listening to music. He intends to continue Greek and Chinese in uni.

Marcus happens to like some of the expressions of Thomas Aquinas -

"If you do not bring forth what is within you, what is within you will destroy you"

Lynn is so excited that she must revert to first-person narration.

"Firstly, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the sweet Happy Birthday's!! It has been the BEST Birthday so far!

To begin with - the formal. I spent an entire day getting ready - spent a whole hour on the freeway thanks to Cityrail (or lack of) forcing people to drive to work, then attacked one of her friends with makeup, discovered the ineptness of Hollywood Tape (about the only thing it worked for was keeping her shoe straps up) and came up with two beautiful phrases. The first is "Chuckapuff", which is what Lynn called this INCREDIBLY slow truck inching along at 5km per hour in a 70km zone (with poor Lynn behind it - oh yes, Lynn has no road rage whatsoever). The second is "HIGH HEELS SUCK!". Unfortunately, Lynn is so petite that she really, really needed those heels. Lynn wants her growth spurt to kick in. Now.

Lynn has discovered that she has reverted back to third person narration. Anyway!

The actual HGHS formal at the Four Points Sheraton was a bit of a doosy, it was not all bad, but not terribly good either. The food was a bit... exotic. Lynn prefers plain food like chicken and potatoes. Anything she can't identity... she is not terribly fond of. The music was of the r&b/hiphop persuasion, although most of it was ho-hum music and Lynn spent half her time sitting down because a) the songs weren't appealling and b) HIGH HEELS SUCK!!

At the after party Lynn's friends started watching OC whilst Lynn - who has never watched the OC and sadly doesn't find it quite as riveting as CSI or Charmed - dozed off for a little while. (It's about 1:00am at this point this morning). Shortly after that, Lynn's friends walked in a Chocolate Bavarian Cake, singing "Happy Birthday"!!! Lynn was overwhelmed with love for her friends. As a bit of an individual, Lynn hasn't ever really done "group" things very often but is really cherishing the moment. Having friends that throw parties for you is very cool. After cake, Lynn's friends started drinking ("Archers Spri all the way!"). For the record, Lynn did not drink because a) she doesn't, and b) Lynn is the designated driver :). However, one of Lynn's friends also has a low alcohol tolerance, took only one bottle - and suddenly, LYNN HAD A LAUGHING BUDDY! Lynn has reputation for being able to act drunk and go on highs without any alcohol or sugar at all, so to find someone on the same level as her is quite an accomplishment. Lynn is now assuming that her body magically produces and distributes Archers Spri through her bloodstream on a regular basis. Isn't that cool!

Back to the rest of today. After dropping her friends off Lynn had to go back to school to sign out and pick up big fat Textiles major work, of which friends have seen. She then went to singing lesson. Lynn has not been for like, 2 months, but singing teacher was happy to see her anyway. Lynn now has new song to practice - "Tell me on a Sunday" from the musical Song and Dance. Lynn is looking forward to singing practice, as it is the only thing she enjoys practicing.

Lynn walked from Waitara Station to carpark, and had SUCH SORE FEET (and still does). She has also got two angry-looking blisters, and is seriously considering abolishing heels if she ever assumes a big fat seat of power. For the moment, Lynn will go back to wearing her pretty Flower Slippers.

Well, that was Lynn's day. She recieved many happy birthday sms's from friends and is just about to send her brother of to tuition - then she will put on a tiara and go off to tap class (Lynn has always wanted to wear a tiara to dance class but has always been too chicken to. Now, she has an excellent excuse). Lynn will show some formal photos (including the funny one) soon.

Wow....Alan feels like Lynns fantabulous day has turned into fairy lights which are now drapped around him.

Alan cant seem to think of a more fantastic day! He cant wait to see the formal photos, and when Alan gets his turn of the cd of photos from his formal, he promises to post up his own too.

Alan's body also seems to have the ability to stir Alan into drunkeness (minus alcohol) even though he often drinks.

And he understands how extreme excitment causes one of throw off the shackles of third person...before reclaiming them (it seems a very entrenched trait of Alan now).

Alan wishes Lynns fantastic day continues into the night and for ever more!

(And yes, Alan agrees that High Heels SUCK)

india had her formal last friday, and sadly, due to serious lack of boyfriend, had to borrow her best friends boyfriend for the night. her and all of her wonderful friends took boys from other schools, who made the night bearable through their use of laughter during the principals speech.

india was on the verge of giving up on her school in all aspects, as she really doesnt/didnt appreciate it at all. that was, of course, before the awards were announced.

nominated girl most likely to become successful, winner of most likely to become famous, runner up best dressed of the night!

yes, it seems good old school is good for something. boosting ones ego!
