hey, everyone, i'm a year 12 student and almost finish all my HSC exams. yesterday i just found something really funny and may make our lives more meaningful, there is a group called "Improv Everywhere" in USA, and its founder, Charlie Todd, causes bizarre, hilarious, and unexpected public scenes and these scene bring people together. and what i wanna do is trying to organise a similar thing in Sydeny, may start with some small event like giving people high five in Central Station or other station in city in some random day / frozen in central station (like what they did and u can find out in this video as well as their videos in youtube), it can not only make other people's day but also we can have fun and enjoy this holiday.

about 'Improv Everythere', i believe someone heard about it before, I googled it but sadly i couldn't find any similar organisations like it. so i decide to star this

if u have no idea what they do, you can type "Improv Everywhere" in youtube and u will find their videos

so if anyone is interested, plz email me:

alex-aus@hotmail.com

so, here is my plan for the first action:

1st.
we give high five to people in Central Station and other Station in city between 8 -10 am
here is the sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abt8aAB-Dr0

2nd.
if we have enough people (50~100), we could 'frozen Central Station' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwMj3PJDxuo) like this

so it could be very funny and excited if we can make this!!!

once again, if u are interested, plz contact me and tell this to your friends and parents.

Thanks you

ImprovAnywhere are actually building on a long standing tradition of street theatre and improvised performances. What your talking about is more commonly known as a flashmob, which had a huge spring of popularity around four years ago.

In terms of actual theatre impro, ImproAustralia is worth looking into. They're essentially the biggest improv company in NSW. In terms of flashmobs, http://www.sydmob.com/ may be of some use, though I don't know too much about it.
