In 2008, midsem break after 2 weeks of uni (1 Viewer)

Currently we have 14 weeks of teaching material i.e. lectures, labs etc. + 1 month for exam period + 1 week Mid-recess + 1 week Stuvac before exam period.

Yeah I agree gman, maybe people do not like change.

Wow 2 hours?? I'd love that for science courses, we always have 3 hr based exams.

My first year (2005) they had the exact same thing, break after week 3 at usyd (which wouldve been week 2 at unsw). 12 straight weeks without a break, it was hell i tells ya!

Not next year yet (as it will still be an 8 week semester)... Wait till 2009.

Most likely only first and second year CORE subjects.

Yay, I have Neb man on my team! So your "majority of unis" who have 12-week semesters is decreasing!

I dont see whats wrong with 12 week semesters, i actually think its really great.

Ie if u failed a course and is behind schedule u can take courses during summer summer semester to catch up.

Also for people doing double degree and want CA/CPA qualification they are able to do the options in summer provided the course is offered.

and dont forget with the trade off, yo uget a guarantee'd 1 month break mid year, and thats usually extended if you finish your exams early
