it was announced by the UN in the 1970s I think when women didn't have equality in society/workplace etc. we should thank those bra burning chicks for the freedom we have now.
I don't know, why do we have mother's day? children's day?
keep in mind this is an international event. many women in the world don't have equality, such as in ethiopia where girls are married off as young as 7.

International Women's Day should be used to highlight the plight of women in less stable countries where forced prostitution, sex slavery and a number of terrible acts are commited against innocent women.

Im not fully aware, but i am aware Stalin in some cases move backward in social isssues in many things.

BUT

Be open minded, the women writings were way ahead of their time. Only in the last decades have some countries started to get near the progressive level on womens issues as they wrote 50 to 100 years earlier.

Ironically, of all the people I know, from the hippies and the socialists to the far right-wing, it's the guys who make the best cooks/chefs.

Thats because of traditional jobs and men only working to get paid, so the cooking done by women was considered typical and mundane, whereas mens cooking was a career. May not be the right way of thinking but it is fact of those times
