The latest edition to the Safari family certainly has some speed behind it! My order of preference is as follows: Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera. I won't touch the rest... and I do find good things unique to each browser. Shove 'em all together please ^^

I have to agree with everyone else.

Firefox used to be a token of everything that is good in the (open source world). It was an example others should aspire too. But now it is just overly slow and ugly and, ironically, bloated.

I use Safari when I am on OS X, but only because of the lack of flash in Chrome for OS X. When on Windows, I always insist on using the latest dev version of Google Chrome.

Google Chrome is just so pleasing to use, and I love how simple the browser is.

I used IE 8...Used chrome its amazingly faster...like 10 X faster than IE(maybe because it has less features and secuirty?)...I don't like the way firefox runs...lol, looks ugly imo

I use IE 8 because its the standard program for browsing on a windows PC, and ive used it my whole life, so i'm used to it...

MS made it, so it must be good. They did make the OS you know. Can't be that bad. Good security...Get a anti virus secuirty program if ur so worried about that...

Speed wise its fine for me. I feel more comfortable with IE...

Obvious troll is obvious.

Seriously Microsoft and good security? Chrome is more secure than IE and is a better browser.

Well yeh, they are the big cheese, the head honchos, if we cant trust their security to be top rate we cant trust anyone.

'Better browser' is for the individual to judge and as said before, if security is a problem just get good firewall/antivirus protection. At the end of the day all the browsers display the webpage, it just comes down to the layout/options/features you prefer.

I'd rather a standards compliant browser, that's why I don't touch IE

Microsoft can't be trusted because they have such a stong hold over the market share, most people are idiots and just go for the biggest brandname M$ with IE. With this in mind is there really any incentive for M$ to develop a safe and useful browser? Of course not.

Surely it is within their reputations interests to do so.

Why would they need to worry about their reputation? Either people are too stupid to change or they don't know any alternatives.

Or have tried the other alternatives and noticed no significant improvement or reason to change.

More effective use of memory? Faster loading times? How are those not improvements, as well as improvements on security(provided you don't install retarded ad-ons).

When I switched from IE to FF I noticed the faster loading times then from FF to Chrome it was a huge difference. From pages in FireFox that took about a minute to load when they were cached Chrome was loading them in about 10 seconds when they weren't.

Of course all of the major browsers have porn mode now, which is a bonus to all the people who don't have their own computer, of course I just use FireFox as my porn browser because its download manager is better than Chromes IMO.

'porn mode' hahaha, well that's what it effectively is so yeh.

As for memory I definitely agree that IE is a muncher, however I have 3.3 gig so personally it can munch all it wants, it doesnt bother me at all. As for loading times my connection is 1500kbps (so I dl at 160) so pages load pretty much straight away for me. I will say that if you dont have these, an alternate browser would definitely suit you better though, and even if you dont as it is mere personal preference.
