Government tends to do things without our permission for example they put fluoride in water knowingly that it's a toxin that is bad for us.
It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.

[FONT=Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Fluoride - Adverse Health Effects[SIZE=-1]

Fluoride can be one of the most volatile and active harmful chemicals in the body. Fluoride can attack mercilessly, against any age group, but its effects are especially harmful to developing children and the elderly. The detrimental effects of fluoride are varied. Below is a list of some of the recently documented, harmful effects of drinking fluoridated water:
1) Fluoride is known to cause dental fluorosis, a defect of the toothenamel caused by fluoride’s interference with developing teeth. Itsvisible signs are mottled or yellowed teeth. Nearly 30% of childrendrinking fluoridated water suffer from dental fluorosis on two or moreteeth (Hileman, 1988).

2) Fluoride is associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Fluoride enters the brain and enables aluminum to cross the blood-brain barrier, resulting in increased risk for these diseases. Fluoride has also been associated with low IQ and mental retardation in children (Hileman, 1988).

3)Fluoride can cause a crippling bone disease called skeletal fluorosis. In more mild forms, symptoms of this disease include chronic jointpain, similar to the symptoms of arthritis. Arthritis has now reachednear epidemic levels in the United States, and the connection tofluoridated water should be considered.

4) Fluoride depresses the activity of the human thyroid glandand has been commonly used as an effective treatment for patients withoveractive thyroids. Fluoride may depress the activity of the healthythyroid, as well, resulting in an underactive thyroid, a common causeof obesity. More than 20 million people in the United States receivetreatment for thyroid problems.

5) Fluoride disrupts the activity of normally functioninghormones. Fluoride can reduce levels of melatonin, the sleep hormone,in the body, causing chronic insomnia (Hileman, 1988).
Most European countries have now rejected the process of water fluoridation. Their children’s teeth have not suffered from this rejection. The cost/benefit ratio of fluoridated water no longer warrants the presence of fluoride in drinking water.

ABSTRACT

Communal water fluoridation is not considered controversial by the vast majority of the scientific community; however, politically it has persisted as an issue that many legislators and community leaders have avoided because of an aura of dispute. it has been a battleground for vigorous opposition by a very small but outspoken minority who have fought it with the dedication of religious zealots. This paper reviews the nature of the opposition, who they are, the broad thrust of their arguments, some of the specific issues they have raised, and their techniques.

Yours isn't much better. Terriers are traditionally working dogs, specifically hunting or herding dogs, and require an immense amount of exercise for their size.

No, all you've won is acknowledgment that you have a cock firmly entrenched up your arse you crazy fuck.

The government puts fluoride in the water in minute, regulated amounts to prevent the type of tooth decay that is so prevalent in less well-of societies. Because not only does tooth decay ruin your mouth, it also causes lots of downstream cancers and diseases, and infection itself is often outright fatal.

Certainly, if there's going to be a universal healthcare system, it makes sense to try and limit use of that system (i.e. keep people as healthy as possible) to save costs.

So zstar, what will your next conspiracy theory be?

This is one of the rare instances where I agree with Trefoil's main point. that fluoride used in low concentrations in drinking water is not harmful. His crude insults though, and inability to substantiate and explain them are still frustrating though. There was no need to be rude to zstar.

To lay this issue to rest, here is an extract from the World Health Organisation's Chemical Fact Sheets which explain the effects of fluoride, when it could become harmful, etc, here's the toxicology review:

Toxicological review
"Many epidemiological studies of possible adverse effects of the long-term ingestion of fluoride via drinking-water have been carried out. These studies clearly establish that fluoride primarily produces effects on skeletal tissues (bones and teeth). In many regions with high fluoride exposure, fluoride is a significant cause of morbidity. Low concentrations provide protection against dental caries, especially in children. The pre- and post-eruptive protective effects of fluoride (involving the incorporation of fluoride into the matrix of the tooth during its formation, the development of shallower tooth grooves, which are consequently less prone to decay, and surface contact with enamel) increase with fluoride concentration up to about 2mg/litre of drinkingwater; the minimum concentration of fluoride in drinking-water required to produce it is approximately 0.5 mg/litre. However, fluoride can also have an adverse effect on tooth enamel and may give rise to mild dental fluorosis at drinking-water concentrations between 0.9 and 1.2 mg/litre, depending on intake. Elevated fluoride intakes can also have more serious effects on skeletal tissues. It has been concluded that there is a clear excess risk of adverse skeletal effects for a total intake of 14mg/day and suggestive evidence of an increased risk of effects on the skeleton at total fluoride intakes above about 6mg/day."
