nah im not racist hehe....actually the majority of my friends r asian (strangely enough) but most of them r very non-typical asian if u get wat i mean

now dont get me wrong, it's not that i wud never go after an asian guy, its just that alot of them (or mayb im just thinking of viets) r so obsessed with the whole 'asian pride' thing...or try 2 stand out like assif theyre saying 'look at me! look at me! im jap/viet...'

n then there's the gangstas *sigh* or mayb its just where i come from

It's been said a fair few times in this thread already, but inter-racial relationships are obviously gold. Whilst it's possible to make some generalisations about races due to common elements of their cultural heritage, when it comes down to it, it's the individual that counts (as many have pointed out).
I'll chill with anyone regardless of what race they are. In fact, I think it's cool being friends with people who offer some sort of insight in to other cultures, just because I find other cultures interesting.
That being said, I still do tend to break things down to race sometimes unfortunately. For example, with young Lebanese people, I've been indoctrinated in to thinking of them as WRX-driving, mysogynist dickheads. And while I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, I've sadly never met any. It's fucked that I believe a generalisation like that, but everything I've seen (I used to live in Marrickville, and now Rockdale) has just confirmed the stereotype.
Generalisations work in a positive sense though, i.e. Indian girls are very hot generally, especially half-Indian girls. Christ!

Anyway that was a legitimately useless post.

Rock on,
Anton

U know- u say that ur open minded and everything- but it seems that u can't be open minded about what i have to say or those who agree with me. At least i can see where ur coming from- i am just calmly tellin u what i think!
So disagreeing with you makes me closed minded?

I listened to what you said, and I pointed out things that I disagreed with. I accept that you have these views, but I'm voicing what I think as well...

I think not accepting people that are different (i.e. not speaking in English) is closed minded. But I'm openminded, in that I know that there are people out there like that and that they probably won't change their minds.... so I accept that, but I can still say I think that its wrong...

I know where your coming from, I am also an "Aussie with an asian body", although I still love my asian roots....

I'm an asian. I used to be into all that asian pride bullshit however when I changed schools I begun to hang around the asians but it was through these asians I met my two friends: one who is assyrian and the other who is english/australian.

We've been hanging around each other for a year and now our group consist of around two fobs, two leb/irish, two asians (incl. myself) the english/australian and the assyrian. It's the best multiculteral group around, we're kinda a social club as one of our friends has a home gym so yeah most of these people are huge, I'm small but am quite strong now.

Well I used to be into asian girls but after being with two of them. I realised that many of them (don't mean to offend) but they're all typical. They lacked personalities and their constant nagging just pissed me off. I personally prefer any race now however not any girls who hang around just one racial group. E.g. Asian who only socialises with asians.

Can I just say something about the language thing. I don't care if people speak in their language in public, as I sometimes do with family, but it becomes a problem when the volume goes maximum. like today in the train from school I sat in front of these Asian group and they spoke mandarin so loud the whole carriage could hear them. now, that's what annoys me.

and about the interracial relationship thing, I reckon most conservative Asian families don't allow interracial relationship or marriage (which sucks).

As we all know the hard fact is that the westeners rule most things. They're "cool", "hot", etc. I used to wish I was born Anglo, but nowadays I'm proud of my ethnicity (but never to the AZN pride extreme). Though there are times when I clash with my parents because I tend to lean more to the western culture. Sometimes they're more open-minded.

Anyway, I tend to find Anglo/European girls attractive (am I the only gay person here?). but maybe I just haven't met a lot of asian girls.

I don't think it matters wat race the person is.

and the whole talking in public i think its ok as long as no one is offended? in the sense that if someone the group has no idea waht your saying then its bad but if everyone understands its ok.

I mean when I hang out with other asian ppl i get offended when they speak canto and there's someone there that doesn't understand i think its rude. LIke when u were in primary school you use to speak pig latin to get everyone anoyed.

but when ppl speak chinese to me i usally reply in eng but thats because i can't speak chinese I totally have a really bad accent so i forget.

organge hair is so totally cliche and blue hair rocks

I agree completely...

Speaking in any language loudly in a public place is rude...

Do you guys really have families that woul mind if u were to marry someone non-azn? becoz I know that my mum wouldn't care at all. My mum can be strict on things, but she's said that when it comes to marriage- it's as long as i am happy and as long as the person can provide for me and yada yada yada.
yes, i do too find euros more attractive, and have neva infact gone out with someone my own race... strange huh? Maybe euros like the exotic-ness ( is that a word?) of azn girls? hehe I know that azn girls can be associated with porn... ha makes me laugh.
