Establishment of several treaties & alliances which gave helped to unite and stablise most of western europe.
Technological advances is such a lame point. We would have come up with them anyway.
Economic benefits? Doubtful when the entire nations wealth is being spent on defense not to mention the disruption of the workforce through massive re-structuring.
And youll find most of the treaties and alliances were only signed because countries saw the horrific nature of war and didnt want to experience it again.

Communism DOES support in theory distributing wealth to the most needy

Economic benefits were mainly for nations like america which weren't really affected too much in the world, however once the reconstruction in europe was complete alot more economic stability existed.

i do agree about the positive outcomes of worldwar II, but im conflicted over it. Also, worldwar two was brought about by an entirly different situation. i dont see how you can really compare it to whats happening in iraq. Its closer in resemblance to Vietnam. a pre emptive attack on something that the american government was afraid of.

Meh, thats because the Chinese economy is semi-deregulated leading to a greater divide in income distribution. They are now only Communist in ideology, not in economy.
And i did not say that Communist rule leads to highest real wages, that of course comes from capitalist systems, i merely said that the income distribution is most equal. :)
I win.

Yes but without the war, they might not have seen the errors of war, and during the war women were able to work in the workforce and also in traditionally male occupations. Since WW2 the defence industry has provided jobs for many ppl around the world, strengthening the economy

I disagree with it being the best system in theory, if i truely believed that I would strive for communism.
Are u serious, even though it distributes wealth, the most effectively in theory, i still wouldnt support it

but doesnt it also balance the work load?
and besides, the whole aim is to destroy unbalanced class systems. which i think is very noble in its cause, however difficult it is to achieve in real life.
