Everyone is different. Its best to try different times and see which suits you best. Arnold Schwarzenegger always found his workouts to be better in the morning.

Personally, I have found that I struggle with early morning workouts, so I stick to night time.

Yeah thats true.
I prefer workouts in the late afternoon/evening. I can't stick to morning routines.

I'm doing weights/resistance training. Pretty much just free weights: dumbell-based exercises. Trying to bulk up a bit :)
I'm also building a home gym I bought.

If your goal is putting on lean mass, then I'd strongly recommend eating protein before bed. I don't really need to say anymore about it since Hypertrophy covered it all really well in his post.

But make sure your hitting the big compound exercises (Bench Press, Deadlift, Squats, Leg Press, Shoulder Press) if you want to add mass, these are crucial.

but im sure the heart rate decreases in 2 hours :p
The wierd thing is that ive heard of many physicians recommending sex before sleep: that raises your hR.
That is because orgasm releases chemicals that help you sleep, it has nothing to do with the (s)exercise increasing your heart rate.

thats ok:)

both of you
I do resistance training, and am currently bulking. I started last year, and bulked throughout the year (gain of 20kgs) - maintained my weight for the first few months this year - and I am now bulking again.
I went from 58 - 78kgs last year, and plan on going from 78 to 90 by November (hopefully :)).

By the way, what are your actual goals? If you are trying to lose weight (fat), I recommend doing resistance training as well as your cardio.
