I am interested in physics, maths and computing.

Is it worth combining Electrical Engineering with Computer Science? Will I be more employable upon graduation?
Also, would it mean that the workload would increase as well?

It will help to a certain extent doing combined, mainly in fields related to microelectronics and possibly control systems too.

The workload is exactly the same, but you do an extra year.

Have you looked at Comp Eng? That actually consists of quite a lot of Comp Sci and Elec courses mashed up in the one program.

Do note with the BE ME, the minor is not written down on your graduation certificate. It is moreso something along the side which you are encouraged to use in interviews or for extra knowledge here and there or just out of personal interest. If you do minor in Computer Science, you will be doing 24 UOC (so 4 more courses) of Computer Science to consist of the minor. However you can also take a few more electives within your Electrical Engineering component which are held under the Computer Science and Engineering Faculty (CSE).

There is still quite a difference between combining the BE ME with a minor in Computer Science and doing a combined BE (Electrical) / B Science (Computer Science). You do much more courses within CSE with the BE/B program in comparison to the BE ME with minor in Computer Science program.
