Please use this thread to discuss Islam.

Some issues might include:
  • How Islam fits in today's world
  • Islam & possible links to terrorism
  • Islam and Australia
  • Beliefs of Islam
  • Criticisms of Islam
- MS
The world can't fight terroism without the Muslim Leaders acknowledging that there is a problem and take corrective action, their nations will be a threat to the world including their own countries.

Vilest of Animals in Allah's Sight Are Those Who Disbelieve

Written by Pete Fisher Tuesday, November 01, 2005

In Kura'an Surah VIII 55 certainly spells out the mind of so many potential terrorists that walk in our midst in America, Europe, Canada, and Australia. We hear from our politicians and liberal news sources about how peaceful this religion is supposed to be. We have seen the PC world take over and decide for us all that even to speak against Islam is as bad as speaking against a race of people simply due to the color of an individual. Yet the president of Iran calls for Israel to be "wiped from the map."
The issue here is not race. Islam is not a race; it should be like any other religion where one can freely study and contemplate the tenets and make a personal choice to adhere or not. Theoretically people should not be born into Islam or forced to follow Islam as I have been corrected many times by some Muslims over the years. But how can one argue with the words of the Koran? It is contained within the writings of Islam: world domination and eliminating the infidels is accepted and commanded.
What prompted me to write this was the recent warning in Indonesia to Christians in particular that followed the beheadings of some local Christians. Three schoolgirls who were walking to their Christian school were attacked. One girl who escaped the beheading was severely injured. This is not a new issue in the region, where similar situations have been ongoing for a long time. If this were an isolated incident, I would shrug it off as just that. Yet the echo of Islamic assaults on people rings on every continent inhabited by humans.
So many of these incidents go unreported and unchecked due to the local media being controlled or paralyzed by the Islamic government where they take place. One can ask the Copts in Egypt, or the Assyrians in Iraq, the Sudanese, the Russian schoolchildren who died at the hands of these Islamic "warriors." One can ask the Pakistani Christians who have seen their churches destroyed after clearing the bodies of their children who were murdered inside them. Ask the Persian people who have a large underground movement to remove themselves from Islamic rule. One can talk to Christians world over in Africa and the Middle East, Indonesia, they can talk with Hindus in India who have seen the blood of Muslim swords end the lives of their families and the rage of Muslim soldiers as they burned a temple to the ground. One can talk with a Muslim woman in Palestine or Saudi Arabia who has never been allowed to read or write. Never allowed to drive a car or walk to the store without male escort.
You can talk with the Muslim girls who were raped by a brother or uncle, and taken outside to be stoned for bringing dishonor to the family. Discuss in detail of the imprisonment of those who were found with a bible or simply exchanged religious knowledge with a Muslim and were deemed a danger to society for trying to convert a Muslim. ... What Christianity says, and what Christian's do are two completely different things.

Does turning the cheek also mean turning a blind eye to past acts of violence committed by Christian's, whilst at the same time persecuting Muslims for the acts of extremists?

Nice straw man, fucktard.

Deal with the issue presented! There's a significant issue with the upcoming militancy and grass roots movements of evangelised religion. With the upswing of more conservative political thought in ALL branches of religious thought, particularly in the ideological gulf between the West and the Middle East. Shi'a Law vs Christendom.

We all know what's coming. We all do. All out religious/racial warfare. It's just going to take the first person to destroy a religious sanctuary.

Imagine how fucked the world would be if the wailing wall was taken down by Muslim Extremists.

The thing the Muslims haven't realised is that Western liberalised society limits the more violent wants of Man. I for one reckon an eye for an eye. Religiosity is no motive for killing, and I, for one believe killing in retribution is a perfect idea.
hey do u mind clarifyin ur point of view... kinda confused

Spare me the bullshit, and the half hearted name calling child.

I just find it amusing to watch you Christian's defend yourselves, whilst at the same time criticising other religions. Retribution should match the crime, punishment for a deterrent. Haha, yeah you thought that one through well.

Muslim extremists care not for death, fool. They're the ones currently causing problems, not your ordinary Muslims. Incase you haven't noticed, because you're too cross eyed, retributive justice against radical extremists would not serve as a deterrent, it would serve as a motive for them to committ more acts of violence against the western world.

What the western world needs to do, is get the fuck out of the Middle East. We have no business there. If they wish to carry on blowing themselves up, then allow them to do so. If we retracted from the Iraqi war tomorrow, I have a feeling that terrorist attacks against America and its allies would cease.

Wow, I can see someone's seriously JUST watched Kingdom of heaven. 'ZOMG WURR DERE CRUSAEDS'. I'd swear the Crusades were a while ago. Shi'a law has existed for an age, though.

Straw Man. Straw. Man. STRAW MAN!
No you moron, I was not refering specifically to the Crusades. However, it began with the Crusades when Christians felt they could impose their religion on the rest of the world. It has continued into the 20th Century, when Christian orientated organisations went into Muslim countries with the aim of "converting" Muslims to Christianity.

Christianity has a history of involving itself where it is not wanted, nor needed.

Thank you Sasha!
Extremists! They do not account for the entire religion!

What the article is talking about, is foreign affairs! You whinge about the P.C of the world, but it's the politically correct who are involving themselves in foreign affairs, such as the apparent mistreatment of Muslim women.

The violence by extremists is an act of retaliation from years of foreign intervention.

i dont believe its just extremists... as amatter of fact right now in egypt the governament has declared that according to the islamic law any muslim who kills the coptic orthodox pope would be guilty of his blood and hence will recieve no punishment and furthermore be 'crowned' in heaven.....
and the average muslim has a role!... all the muslim men are hoping they they become the crowned heros who kill him.. christian children no longer go to school and familys r afraid to leave the home.... but stayin indoors isnt safe either everyday christian businesses and homes and churches are smashed..... by the average muslim....

All examples of extremism!

Anti-Mathmite, my name is Katie, not Boris. I am neither Christian nor Muslim, I am non-denominational. Thus, my argument is coming from a non religious side, a side that can see both Muslims and Christians are blinded by their own brain washed stupidity, therefore I can see that this stupid war of religion will never end.

u cant blame it on the extremists....

this is just an example of what the average muslim comminuty does when thier government allows them... here in australia they are not yet the majority... they say look we are the average muslims... but when u come to think about it thats thats becoz thier under our civil laws... but if they were in the liddle eastern context at the moment they would be just like those having fun torturing the christians... gaining a 'crown'

boris.. Such an Arabic name.

Hi Zahid/ what's that other muslim freaks name? (wow that doesn't really narrow down who i'm talking about).. hmm.. Comrade nathan!

The fact of it is, is that we are better than you and hence you are liable to be retards even if we are worse than you (which we aren't).

----

"We can't solve the problem until Muslim leaders admit that their's a problem"

What is it about the fact, that Islam is inextricably linked to Terrorism, don't some people understand?

ACA tonight had a perfect example.. Muslims say one thing in english, and another thing in Arabic. There is nothing wrong with Muslims fighting for allah.. Or being muslims.. Just go back to the middle east and do it!
Despite the fact I dislike you immensely, I agree with your last statement. If Muslims wish to fight and die for their religions, they should do so in their own country. I then feel that Christians, especially those in the Middle East with the intent of converting people to Christianity should leave.

What I see in this thread is a gross misunderstanding of the Muslim religion. If any of you had half a brain and had read the Koran or extracts, you'd know that it does NOT condone violence or oppression of women in any form.

I've won my fair share, mainly because I have developed the ability to argue without petty name calling unless instigated against me, and because I don't need to resort to lines such as...
WELL THEY DID IT FURST ZOMG, to try and back up my argument.

Not once did I say it's our fault, we did it first. Both sides are equally as to blame for the violence.
