So for English extension last year all the marks below like 37/40 are in red. Does that mean noone received marks below 37 last year? Because my teacher who marked the subject said she gave a couple of people zero. Is she a big fat liar or is there somthing i don't get?

The UAC don't release stats of people who got a scaled mark which ranked less than 25% in the state.

so below that we can't really guess how the marks pan out.

I have an estimating algorithm there, but it's anyone's guess how accurate it is.

This is the same case for SAM, although laz doesn't explicitly show it.

EDIT, also laz, i think, has a different algorithm for guessing the marks below 25p

Red means that the marks below 37 have innaccurate values. So the scaling could be incorrect.

I put in his marks and it comes up as 99.40. That's according to the 2002 and 2003 HSCs.

Shows how inaccurate these are since you don't know your aligned marks.

But... you musn't directly use your 1/2 yearly results. I find it is easiest to predict by looking at the percentage in the state.

ie. from looking at these forums you can get a general idea at how the top students are doing and how you might compare to them.

but we can't get our HSC marks yet, can we?
how would u estimate in that area?
It is hard.

This software is just an aid in determining a rough guide to how well you are doing.

As I have said before use the "percentage in state" to guess what HSC mark you will get. Since you probably have a rough idea how you are doing compared to your peers and the others on BOS.

this also why "SAM" is called SAM.
