I'm starting to think more and more that this whole thing has nothing to do with climate change, and is just excuse for the socialist wing of the labor party to implement their ideals of wealth redistribution. in affect wiping out the middle class who will than vote for labor as they will then be seen as 'helping the Aussie battler' by taxing the evil rich companies. imagine if you completely trolled a country with a political party. like democrat nominee in 2024 or whatever advocates raising taxes on rich, increasing medicare funds to the small guys, small business tax breaks, increase social security.

gets nominated, completely changes direction and increases tax on middle class, abolishes medicare, makes taxes >1m 0% and starts 2 new wars.
