.. hahahahah.. I thought this film was funny. Overall I thought Stephen Chow did a pretty nice job on this movie. I went in there expecting some good old style kung fu fighting, but instead got some (nicely-done) funny, far-fetched Matrix-style rumbles.. which was surprisingly nice, in my opinion. Fight scenes were excellent.. no doubt from veteran martial arts choreographer Yuen Wo-ping who had already embedded his work on well-known and received films such as Crouching Tiger and The Matrix. In casting, Chow made some fascinating choices, selecting several actors from the classic period of Hong Kong cinema, like Yuen Wah (landlord) who used to be Bruce Lee's stuntman and has appeared in hundreds of HK films. Leung Siu Lung played 'the beast'.. and in the 70s were known as one of the 'three dragons' along with Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.

Oh, and I reckon that lollypop chick (not the young version you pedos) is hot.

i loved it. found the fighting more involving than anything in the matrix, crouching tiger, hero and house of flying daggers combined. sure, it's cartoonish, but it's surprisingly intense as well. loved the homages to warner bros. cartoons and busby berkeley musicals (and the shining too!). i had a big goofy grin throughout the entire film; easily one of the most fun films i've seen in ages.

Yeah, I agree. See the end fight scene in Pig Sty was obviously a reminiscence of the Burly Brawl in Matrix Reloaded.. however even a die-hard Matrix fan (like myself) would admit the Pig Sty brawl was better done. Burly felt incomplete to me.. I even heard John Gaeta's CGI team didn't finish the rendering properly for Reloaded.. a real shame. Plus Chow's fighting just seems so much more fluid and eloquent than Reeves. The interaction with the set was also alot better in Hustle.

Yeah, I watched it when I was over in Malaysia in December...The friggin subtitles covered up the whole screen...There was English, Chinese, Malay...WTF do you need the Chinese one for when they're speaking it...*shakes head* I thought it was funny and the action and all was awesome but it had a bad story line...Some of it looked a bit fake but ahhh...it's all for a good laugh i suppose... :D

I downloaded the movie a few months ago, I laughed my arse off in some scenes... the fight scenes were quite unique. I liked those evil instrumentalists and their guitar wires. uh was it a sort of guitar they were strumming? I forgot.
And that lady with the lion roar... funny stuff.
