I agree money should be spent on developing nations, you dont address the numbers question though...

To put it in perspective the cost of the kyoto protocol is less than is spent by the EU and US on subsidies which prevent particularly africa from prospering, (it could even be less than is spent ust by the EU but i'd have to check that).

Ofcourse it happening ... how else do you explain the 40 degree days in october and the freak storms which have been happening lately?

But everything that we can possibly do to slowly postpone the effects so we can proply prepare ourselves cause it ain't gonna last for 1 year.

The world will be changed forever it will not be the world that we know it.

And producing all the greenhouse gases we are producing is only helping to increase the onslought of global warming.

Ok well most projections, models disagree with you there.... we will pretty much be able to live with global warming...

Freak storms have always happened. Some of the hottest days were set back in the 40's.

ever watched the day after tomorrow???

i bet by saying that the 'intellects' of this board will start attacking you saying that your gullible and that day after tommorow was just a big hyperbole.

a bit melodramatic IMO yes....BUT there is truth to it....part of the movies purpose was to increase our awareness....they used scientistic info and help from scientists to write the movie ya know....not all media is bad..

but noooooo the intellects are smarter than you

actually the movie had 8 hours of bonus features which were related towards global warming. And the movie was thoroughly researched on global warming as well.

I find it interesting that people are willing to watch a movie like that, that had 'scientific' basis and call it truth while they watch the news and say how bias and wrong their stories are.

Yes however the UN and the Copenhagen report from which the figures i am quoting come from disagree.... the price to the world of living with global warming after 2100 will be around $500-800 billion anually.

I might not be the smartest person in the world ... i might not be a scientist and i might not know everything to do with global warming ... but i do care about the environment and i do care that we have a future which future generations can live better than what we did ... just cause I can care about the environment and obviously you care about different things and feel that money should be spent differently.

I care about the environment, i'm just saying that the kyoto protocol is a waste of resources.... $150-$300 billion a year of the worlds economy going towards pushing back global warming 6 years?

I do think we should do alot more to protect the environment new better fuel injectin and green fire spark plugs cut emissions by cars, hyrbid and hydrogen ones cut them more.

On the plus as resources run out economically companies will be forced to develope alternatives.

they modelled!! models don't always come out to be correct ... hence why they are models.

And people will believe scientific movies over the media any day cause scientific believes are universally accepted than the perception which is produced by the media

Yea... i think companies, countries realise that the environment can only be stretched so far... however for the next 100 years as we make the transition i see no point in spending $150 billion a year on this cause.

$150 billion a year is a drop from an ocean, it really is fuck all, that kind of money is peanuts.
