My English half yearly is on Tuesday and I'm incredbily underprepared. I've got a creative and according to my teacher it's reasonably well written, but I feel that it's horribly cliched. As for my essay, I've done barely anything - I've got related texts and analysed them a bit + I have a pretty good knowledge of Romulus, but I haven't linked everything together and I don't feel at all ready to actually write an essay.

What should I be doing in the limited time I have to maximise my mark? I realise I shouldn't have left it till the last minute (and I won't next time), but what's done is done and I've got to deal with it.

i would go with analysing and deconstructing your essay stuff first because creative stuff, you can leave to the end, and even in the exam room if need be. you can't really produce an essay without adequate, often mega preparation, well at least for me.

I've compiled my quotes and I've got a reasonably good idea in my head about what to write, but when it comes to actually writing it, it ends up being shite. Creative still looks like crap as well.

Best bet is to go with what you have, it's too late to be writing/adding to essays now tbh. Learn/memorise what you have and go with it.

as for creative, are you memorising something and just writing it back out? generally with creative, i don't try to prepare for it too much because it just comes out but if it's easier for you that way, then by all means. just be careful with welding it around the stimulus

Yeah, that's what I've figured.

Nah, I'm not into the whole "memorise and then regurgitate it during the exam" thing. I've written it out once or twice, each time moulding it to a different stimulus. It changes quite a bit each time.
