I was just wondering your thoughts on Little Miss Sunshine as a related text, and any parallels to "belonging" that you can make would be very helpful, thanks.

It would work as a text, but it's very common. A lot of students use it.

Try one of the others in the series. I'm sure there are much more appropriate books for it.

Oh yeah, I should just clarify that it's the film, not the child's book. Haha

Hmm, my other prescribed text is The Crucible, I've got some links with the dysfunctional family and the motif of a Christ-like figure, I was also thinking about using The Hunchback of Notre Dame instead, I initially tried reading the original by Victor Hugo translated from French, no surprises, it was fairly challenging. Do you think the credibility and sophistication would still be there if I used the Disney remake?

I'm doing the Disney remake as well. You can talk about Frollo giving Quasimodo a false sense of security etc. but I'm doing Immigrant Chronicle as my prescribed text.
