Hey guys, I am making a hip hop album in tribute to the greatest hip hop of all time. I've called it 'Tha Main Facta - Hip Hop Revived' (Based on Nas' title of his new album). I thought it might be a good idea as it will expand the australian hip hop community, and get them listening to the real stuff instead of today's mainstream jibberish shit. It's going to be a 2 cd album with all the greatest songs of our time. A draft copy of CD one has been complete...

Disc One list is:
1. Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Pt. II
2. Nas - It Ain't Hard To Tell
3. Redman - Journey Throo Da Darkside
4. Big Pun - You Ain't A Killer
5. Busta Rhymes - Bad Dreams
6. A Tribe Called Quest - Find A Way
7. Jay-Z - Nigga What, Nigga Who
8. Redman - The Time For Aksion
9. Eminem - Role Model
10. Wu-Tang Clan - Bring Da Ruckus
11. Nas - Affirmative Action
12. Rakim - It's A Must
13. Ice Cube - War & Peace
14. Redman - A Million & 1 Buddah Spots
15. Mobb Deep - Locked In Spofford
16. Nas - NY State Of Mind
17. Method Man & Redman - Big Dogs
18. De La Soul ft. Redman - Oooh
19. Jay-Z - Dead Presidents II
20. MC Lyte - Cold Rock A Party
21. Notorious B.I.G - Juicy

I was thinking of the idea of an East Coast CD and a West Coast CD but I'm still doing a bit of trial and error, so we'll see what happens. catch yaz later, peace.. :D

lol na proper mix.... fading, scratching, looping etc.. and yes im looking to put it in stores, this is a project i've been looking to do for a while, but never bothered to start... and that list i put up is only a draft list, it will more than likely change over the time of the project...

you'll need licences to mess with other people's tracks that'll cost you more than most pacific islands

yeah... as i said the list would more than likely change.... the 2nd cd will have more variety of artists as i already had about 5 songs with redman on the 1st disc... 2nd would include stuff like dmx, big l (few songs), big daddy kane, eric b, krs-one and naughty by nature, which i left out on the 1st one, still deciding on an eastcoast n westcoast cd, but will more than likely just be mixed and mostly eastcoast (as it is better) lol :D

why leave out the south though? We need more southern hip hop mixes because theres ALOT of labelling of southern rap now, as generic bla bla bla.

1. Geto Boys - Mind Playings Tricks On Me
2. Scarface - On My Block
3. 8ball and mjg - pimps in the house
4. T.I - no more talk
5. OutKast - playas ball
6. Goodie Mobb - soul food
7. UGK - Ridin' Dirty
8. Goodie Mobb Feat OutKast - Dirty South
9. Mystikal - Ya'll Ain't Ready Yet
10. Lil' Wayne - Block Burner
11. Project Pat - Drive By
12. UGK - Good Stuff
13. Little Brother - So Fabulous
14. K-Rino - Fuck Da Radio
15. Kingpin Skinny Pimp - Midnite Hoes
16. Cool Breeze - Watch For The Hook
17. OutKast - 2 Dope Boyz In A Cadillac
18. scarface - keep me down
19. UGK - Pocket Full Of Stones

whatever you do, just don't put rapper's delight or the message (by grandmaster flash) on there. Too obvious. And besides, all teenyboppers know those songs (they may not like them, but they pretend to)

Is it just me or do you not even have snoop DO.Double G? No Larouche, no Chamillionaire, Nobody from the south, check www.dopehouserecords.com (southern) all straight outta the tex. You got no Talib Kweli. Jedi Mind Trix, Krs-One, Big L, Slug, papoose (why tha guck mobb deep? they suck cock, and you got them in there like 3 times) SPM - Dead Presidents, but you prolly don't even know what stacking Dead Presidents means... (What do they print on money? Presidents, like Benjamin, Washington and other shit).

I would add, Brother Ali (to add timelessness) for south you need Lil Wayne, TI (I hate them but some cunts like them), and I think i said Cham...
East/West Coast is where it's at though.

*mind fuck..* Definately get some new boys in there... I'd take out some of the shit cunts like Mobb Deep.
Spice 1 - 187 Proof
Definately though you needa respect some of the hot chicano rap coming out, and stick this song in there
Kid Frost - La Raza (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEvK0FB0B3s)
Ice T - Always Wanted To Be A Ho (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t16Fvd0sWI)

I hate when people think they know rap as soon as they mention redman. The ones I highlighted you'll peep if you really have respect for hip hop and you're a mad cunt if you heard them already.
