We got 23 in our year 11 mx1 class. Is this common or wtf big. And only a handful wants may drop out.

Express ideas.

23 is not really THAT big.

It really sounds like a normal class in terms of size. Most schools should have that size except some rural schools that Aquawhite is attending.

Is it all relavent to what you have to learn?

You have 23, I've heard of a school with just 3. I dont think it really matters, except now you can miss class and the difference wont be all that noticable to the teacher, as opposed to a class where there are 5 students

A class of 23 is common. Sometimes at my school Maths Extension classes go up to 27 each depending on timetabling (generally we have about 90-95 people distributed over 5 classes)

Assuming the OP meant that whether the number in a class is normal as opposed to the number doing the subject, that is probably even below average. Obviously if your school only has 10 or so people doing the subject will have a class of that size, commenting on how large the class is compared to yours is quite pointless. A better comparison would be with your English classes because you know class size is not dependent on number of candidates.

I'm rural NSW and we have 12 in our class which is one of the largest we've had. I assume we'll only get 2 or 3 in MX2 though, including me :)

We normally have ~32 split over two classes. So i can see why you think big. Our chem class has around 29, with 6 in the other class. Which seems big to me.

I would guess yours is around average.

My class has 25 for MX1. And it's the same number for MX2.
