hey ive had a mixed response regarding this course, with some saying this is easy while others say that it's so boring that it makes their brain cramp
but just wanna ask what do you think of it?

It seems ok to me. Foolishly, I didn't do math1031 and will probably have to do it first term next year, but I digress. It is easy, but it's interesting to me to learn about all this statistics crap. Seeing as the Matt Wand lectures have been the ones based around math instead of statistics in practise, I'm finding them a lot more interesting.

I almost fell asleep in Rex Vowells this morning though. So tired.

Arh and lol because it's so unbelievably easy, it's making alot of us go to sleep in the lectures both Wand's & Diane's.

>< lol it's like there isn't much challenge i.e. application of formulas, etc.

Ha were 3 weeks in and the hardest thing weve probably done is 5 number summaries? Hahaha.

I dunno. Learning to how to work out standard deviation on the calculator is probably about as challenging as it has gotten so far. :p

I should shuttup before I have to eat my words though. I'd hate for it to get absurdly hard real quickly so I look like an idiot.

Yeah that reminds me :p I better take my words back as well!! Cos this course is more or less mainly boring because of 'almost no application of formulas'.

Btw, Neb you're not the only one who's slightly confused with the Standard Dev, I am too, in fact in our Tut when our Tutor (catherine wong) asked us how the course was, etc etc...one student said how Prof Wand skipped over the steps of working out formulas like Standard Dev. I suppose I'm gonna try using my High School method of just reading my textbook :p

Yes, I felt quite ripped off when I found that out. I copied down that absurd formula in the Matt Wand lecture today, seeing as he said it's the most calculussy/algebraicly inclined thing we'll be seeing.

Fark, stop complaining that your course is easy. Do a real math course.

Yeah did that last year. Now on to Engineering Math 2B. Wooo, last math I have to do. I've had enough after two years.

Serves you all right for saying it was too easy at the start.

Anyway, have you considered the Student Support Scheme. I have found it quite helpful.
