I was very dissappointed with my trial result (many silly errors)... I got <90. Mine was a hybrid paper.

Since when do trial marks get scaled?

I don't understand this scaling thing. What's the point of it? It's obviously not to give the student an indication of thier HSC result, cos there's no way that 80% would go to 100 (afterall the top mark is usually like 98%).

A big different in raw mark doesn't mean a big different in scale mark! in last 2 year , even some student did about 40 percent correct in 4u , that mark will scale to 90! So if the top raw mark is 98, and that will scale to 100, then 80 in raw mark will scale to about 99 point something!

My teacher told us the amazing thing happened in 10 years ago, the scaling of 4u is so high at that time. That there is a student studied general maths but don't want to do any works, then the teacher put him in 4u class , and he got 2 out of 200 in raw mark, finally he got a scale mark of 68/100

the paper we did is CSSA. I think the scaling of 4u now is refer to the performance of 4u students on 3u paper and 3u students on 2u paper.

That's what UAI calculator used for! Accurate output requires accurate input
