it's my worst subject and is way too hard for my simple brain.

A) How do your brains remember formulas?
B) Nothing makes sense.

回复: mathematics sucks

a) repeated use
b) math is based on logic, so it all makes sense.

a) I don't remember them; they're intuitive.

I don't actively try and memorise the formulas. Mostly all I remember is stuff like quadratic formula, trig identities/expansions, basic calculus stuff - since they get used so much, and you can't really do questions without them, so they get stuck.

Try and derive formulas on your own/solve questions without them. Even if you do fail at it, you should at least understand the work better than you would from being taught it in class.

yea true. memorising the rules like; a radius touches a tangent from an exterior point to of a circle it creates a 90 degree angle.

well a lot of the circle geo rules are common sense or can be derived easily, however in actually stating what rules you use in a prove/show question.. well that does require memorising I suppose, since you have to know what statements are acceptable, and what ones need to first be derived

Talent + work.

If you have less talent, then you should do more work. It all adds up.

0.999999999999999999..... = 1

no more logic.

It's been 3 or 4 years now and I still hate circle geometry.

Dude, you crazy? Circle geometry is so easy. It's in the same category as probability, sequences and series, integration. The hard stuff is quadratic polynomial, calculus, locus, trig. My word is final btw.

i have to say im in the same boat, at the moment, maths is letting me down. but out of the 5 peeps in my advanced maths class, we have 2 that do 3 unit as well so they are starting to help the other 3 of us out so that their marks dont suffer at the end of the year...
if you want to get better at maths, the best way to study for it is to do chapter summaries and study exam style questions so that you can experience all styles and variations of the syllabus.

~i know i ramble alot, but i pride myself on it... lol

Mathematics sucks for you because its your worst subject (are you one of those arts orientated people?)....if it sucks and nothing makes sense, why bother doing it?

Also, since you've posted this in the Mathematics forum, you're going to get a lot of disagreement and criticism here.

Haha those are the easiest shit ever.

if you don't do 4unit where they have harder circle geo, please don't even post again.

haha lol at this if you love math

it is the best

p.s. maths is like one easy subject. there is always a definite number and you can always check if you got your answer write. and once you do the exercises and write them out each time you will remember them

KEEP GOING

If you're anything like me...our minds just aren't made for maths.
Seriously..no matter how hard I tried maths just would'nt work for me. I could never push past a top 8 rank or a 85% i was limited lol.

Just concentrate what you ARE good at as opposed to what you're not.

Maths is so easy....i dont understand how its so hard for people... except for 3unit 4unit its hard but general 2unit maths...WOW.

anyways why maths is so easy cause you can actually master it. unlike History English base subject theres always something more you can do i think. well maths just keep doing question after question making sure you done all exam type questions until it become so mechanical that when you rock up in to the test you see a similiar type of question and you do it so easy...

when I first did trig and calculus it didn't make all that much sense to me, since I didn't know what it was I was doing - I was just typing the formulas given into the calculator or whatever. just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't necessarily mean you're bad at it. If you know the applications/problems relating to the work and think about why you're using a particular method to solve the question, then it should make more sense

or maybe it won't I dunno
