I would say about the same as 2024 maybe a bit worse bc I do think it was easier than last year

2024 had so many surface level questions up to question 14, meaning easy to get above 50. That explains why the E3 cutoff was so high in 2024. However 2025 became very hard from question 13

Question 16 and 15 might be relatively easier in 2025, but people who were aiming for an E3 can't/wouldn't/didn't have time to do them, hence E3 cutoff should be lower in 2025. (possibly 45/100 could be E3 cutoff)

I only could do the parallelogram area question in question 15, I don't think the rest was easy

It’s obviously subjective, in 2024 I found the vector stuff harder and that last mechanics questions was ghastly.
Meanwhile I could do every question except for the (2n+1)/(2n+3) question (though I made mistakes).

I understand that the E3 cutoff might be lower for 2025 but I imagine the E4 cutoff wouldn’t be.

That being said I just had a look and the E4 cutoff was 5 marks higher than 2023 but E3 was only 3 marks higher, so the exact opposite could be true

The really hard questions were easier so E4 will increase but the easier questions are harder so E4 will go up but E2/3 will stay the same

time to wait and see if I was correct lol

disappointed that I didn't get q16a). I did not correctly understand the question intuitively. I have a feeling this question was an easy bait if you just blurt out triangle inequality, since we aren't inherently given sufficient knowledge in the course as to what a solution is for a complex poly. But why would something as superficial like that be assessed? Some immediately used the triangle inequality since they saw it in the question and extracted the answer out, which just feels flakey man... There is very few students who realised why this complex number had x solutions. it was a coincidence they came across when they played around with the triangle inequality. The solution is basically just blurting it out then making a disconnection since we want to make a contradiction in that the magnitude of z was >1/2, which doesnt scream the hsc which was often seen as something unique and hugely syllabus oriented. slightly coping rn aha but my point does stand. the test was very unlike nesa.

bro I was soo hoping for an e4, but I was so cooked when I sat the exam, I hadn't eaten for 3 days cause I had gotten food poisoning 😭
im on a kinda similar score to u bro like 68-70 but its all good if u have like a good internal score, like historically my rank would get me like 92 so it should be fine if u have good internals.

70 raw is a band E4 so if 50% of your mark is an 80-83 then you’re fine!
Also the ranks don’t directly correlate except for first and last place for each - first ranked internal gets the top mark in the exam, last ranked internal gets the bottom mark, then the rest of the marks are added up and divided based on the relative spacing of the ranks.

For example I came third in Design and Technology and both marks ended up being the same! I was second in chem by a very small margin and only lost about two marks because of it, bringing my actual mark down by one point (down to 88, I literally got 1 mark under B6 😩).

If you’re getting 80-83 RAW in one of the hardest subjects in the state then you’re sweet!
