Anyone out there studying a media communications degree at USYD, UOW, UNSW or UTS?

Or, anyone sitting HSC this year like me wanting to do Media and Communications? :)

OH! I'm looking to get into the B communications media arts and production at UTS next year, haven't seen anyone else on the forum whose looking at media/communications. Guessing from your ATAR aim your looking at media com at usyd? I was looking at that before but decided 98.5 was a bit too hard... and i heard the usyd course has a lot of theory :S

Me either! Good to find someone else. Yeah I was looking at USYD because I like the campus life better, but at the moment I'm more leaning towards Public Comm. at UTS. Though I'm still very uncertain what I want to do and where I want to go. 98.5 is too hardd, so that's also changed my mind about USYD. Yes, I heard about the theory too. The practicality combined with theory at UTS and since they are pretty specialised in Communications, I think it sounds pretty good. Also good for me travel-wise. Just still unsure :( But hey, if I go to UTS we might meet up eventually haha! :)

Hey guys :) Is anyone still set on B. Communications either at UTS or USYD? USYD requires a higher ATAR but I heard UTS's course has a great rep in industry? Any thoughts?

Hey guys, old dog here (2004 class haha). I've been in media and advertising for, god know how long now and IMO and the choice of university isn't too important.
What is important though is to find out if your degree has a component where the uni places you in work experience programs with media companies.
You can always do this in your spare time by looking at industry publications and contacting companies directly, but it's handy if its integrated into your degree.

The Bachelors degree is a handy way for us to know that you're the type of person who has the patience to commit to something for a few years.

Hope this helps you guys and girls looking at mid-year entry right now.
